First, take a thick wire and make a circle-shaped frame out of it (if the wire is not thick enough, you can make more than one turn).
!!! To preserve moisture so that the wreath lasts as long as possible, it is better to wrap the wire frame with thin strips of foam rubber, securing the ends of the strips with fishing line or thin wire.
Cut the coniferous branches so that they are no more than 25 cm in length,
tie them into small bunches and start weaving them in a circle in one direction.
To prevent branches from falling out, immediately fasten them with thin wire or green thread (if foam rubber is used for moisture, then it is necessary that the ends of the bundles be hidden in foam rubber).
Then attach the remaining bunches along the entire length of the wreath (overlapping so that the fluffy part of each branch covers the wood of the previous one and the place of attachment to the frame). Make sure that the frame wire and connecting wire are not visible. If there are gaps or unevenness in the finished wreath, mask them with small branches that are woven into the gaps with thin wire: take several branches, wrap their ends with stronger wire, secure the wire, bend the free end down and stick the bunch into the wreath to cover places not covered by pine needles.
If you want to make a more magnificent wreath, weave the second layer in the opposite direction. The number of layers depends on the desired splendor of the wreath.

How to decorate a Christmas wreath?
We decorate the wreath using your imagination. There is quite a wide choice. A Christmas wreath made in one color scheme - red, green, blue, white, gold or silver - looks beautiful. The traditional Christmas combination is red or green, blue and silver are very harmonious. Also, the traditional decoration of a Christmas wreath is bows and ribbons. A red ribbon or bow is considered a classic, but you can use ribbons and bows of other colors from different fabrics.
Usually the decoration starts with a ribbon. They braid the wreath with it, artistically arranging the folds and securing, for example, with liquid nails (or wrap the wreath with transparent fishing line or nylon threads along the entire length to secure the structure): glue the edge of the tape on the back side of the wreath and wait for it to harden.
After this, we wrap the ribbon diagonally between the spruce branches. When you wrap the ribbon around the wreath, be careful not to pinch the branches - the ribbon should lie loosely, but not dangle. You can make a large and lush bow anywhere on the wreath, which in itself will be the center of the composition.

Cut a ring out of cardboard. Let's add some volume to it on one side using paper sheets.
So, let's take a lot of paper and form a circle out of it. To prevent the sheets from unfolding, we wrap it with twine.
Now we plant the pine cones in random order on the base using a heat gun.
For decoration, take nuts, candied fruits, and vanilla sticks. Or just tint some bumps with gouache. This will give the feeling that they are covered in snow.
The back can be draped with fabric or corrugated paper.

It can also be made in different ways. The easiest option is to glue or tie the candies together.
A more complicated option is to string candies onto wire hangers. To do this, take the hanger and pull the lower part towards you. This way we will have a circle, and it will be very convenient to hang the craft on the hook.
Now the most labor-intensive part - you need to tie each candy with tape to this wire ring. Ask the kids to help you, otherwise you will waste a lot of time.
Don't skimp on candy, you may need 2 kg or more. But it is important that the craft turns out magnificent.
Another way to create a sweet decoration is to glue candies to a cardboard base using a heat gun.

2. Now let's take toilet paper and paper towel rolls.
Let's paint them green and dry. Now let’s apply strips 1 cm wide to each of them. And cut all the blanks. We'll end up with a lot of cardboard parts. We will form flowers from them. It is convenient to fix the parts themselves with a heat gun.
Lay out the resulting flower into a circle, not forgetting to glue the edges.
3. I offer you this simple idea for a paper wreath with stars.
The first step is to cut out an even ring of cardboard. This can be done with a compass or as shown in the photo. Namely, you need to take two pencils. measure the length of the thread equal to the radius of the circle with allowances. Allowances will be used for tying pencils. Now we put one of them in the center, and draw a circle with the second.
The cut out cardboard piece needs to be wrapped in paper. We will first shake it with our hands to give it volume.
All that remains is to cut out the stars and stick them on the base.
4. This master class shows that the ring was made without a compass, but simply by attaching two plates of different diameters to cardboard.
Decorate the craft with paper leaves.
5. I also liked the idea of voluminous stars. Just like above we make a ring base. We wrap it with jamka paper.
And then we cut out the stars, as shown in the diagram and bend all the rays exactly in the middle.

Fragrant wreath with oranges and tangerines
Not long ago I saw an idea for a gift craft made from tangerines and oranges. After all, it is their smells that are associated with the New Year. Therefore, I hasten to show you how you can make this fruit wreath, which can even be used as a gift.
For such beauty you need to take at least 8 tangerines. You will also need clear packaging film and tape or tape.
Place all the tangerines you want to use for crafts on the unfolded film. This way we will determine what length we need to cut from it. The width should completely cover the tangerine.
We wrap our fruits in this segment. To prevent the film from unrolling, tape it at the edges.
Now we need to use braid, thread or twine to separate each fruit from the neighboring one.
We roll the resulting workpiece into a ring and fix the edges.
You can decorate this craft with pine cones, felt elements or branches.
Tangerines can be cut into thin slices and dried.
The result is a very fragrant decor for any type of wreath. Orange circles go with all materials.
How to make a decoration with Christmas tree decorations
Crafts with Christmas tree decorations look very festive. Let's consider the simplest option for making such a wreath.
Let's take:
- Christmas balls in two shades,
- hanger,
- fir branches
- decor
And we will still need the same notorious wire hanger.
It needs to be bent again and given the shape of a circle.
I’ll be honest, I couldn’t straighten it out on my own. So my husband helped with pliers.
We place our balls on the free edge. They can be alternated in shades or colors. It is better to take the toys themselves in small sizes and try to hang them very tightly.
Now we take the branches, tie them and attach a wire loop to their ends. We string it after the balls onto the open end.
All that remains is to twist both ends so that the wreath does not fall apart and go decorate the room.

Wreath of discs
Let's take the most ordinary disks that few people need right now. So that they don’t lie around, we’ll make decor out of them.
You can use cardboard or plywood 5 mm thick as a basis.
We begin gluing the discs along the entire circumference of the ring using a heat gun.
If you have a lot of disks, you can make a second and third layer.
All that remains is to decorate the craft with New Year's decor.
Clothespin wreath
Clothespins are now also not only used in everyday life, but also actively participate in creativity.
So, we cut out a ring from cardboard with a diameter of 15 cm. We paint it with green gouache and dry it.
We paint the clothespins with the same gouache and also dry them by pinning them to the box.
Now we take the wire, roll it into a circle and distribute clothespins along it. They can be pinned next to each other, or they can be alternated with beads, balls or bows.
This wreath made from popsicle sticks caught my eye. I think that repeating this idea will not be difficult.
Pompom wreath
Such a handsome pom-pom turns out to be very elegant and fluffy. It's easy to do and looks amazing.
You need to take a cardboard base, yarn, threads, scissors and a needle.
We will make pompoms in two sizes - 7 and 5 cm.
To do this, take the yarn and cut off threads 7 cm long from it. For each pompom you need at least 15 pieces. We tie them together with a thread and fluff them up.
In the cardboard we make two holes with a thick needle, into which we will stretch the ends of the pompom threads and tie them on the wrong side.
We will make the sides of the wreath from small parts with a thread length of 5 cm.
We tie the small piece next to the large one.
Rows of two pompoms must be repeated every 3 cm.
Of course, this is not very fast. But it turns out very beautiful.
Based on this technique, you can make this version of a wreath.
And one of those pom-pom snowmen.
Wreaths made of fabric and yarn
There are many ideas for wrapping the base ring with fabric and yarn. Let's see what comes out of this.
First, let's see what comes out of burlap.
By repeating this idea, but from a strip of fabric, you can get this version of the craft.
You can not wrap it, but cover the base with fabric.
Or just wrap the base with yarn. By the way, the winding from “Travka” will look very nice here. There is this type of yarn.
Now I’m bringing an idea from tulle.
We will need a lot of scraps of this fabric. We fold them and soak the fold in PVA glue. Then we fix the blanks on the base.
Another technique for creating a tulle wreath. We cut the material into thin long strips (5*12 cm) and tie them around the entire perimeter of the ring.
Based on this technique, such crafts are made.
This idea really inspired me.
It’s also very easy to make a wreath from cotton pads. Look how simple it is!
It is necessary to fold the disk in half, then in half again. And stitch the bottom fold with a needle so that the workpiece does not fall apart.
We fix these blanks on the finished foam ring and enjoy the beautiful snow-white decor.
Many bows will also make beauty.
To make them you need wire and braid.
We tie bows on the wires, placing them close to each other.
Wreaths made from plastic bottles
We only need bottle bottoms. To make it look elegant, you can take them in different colors.
So, the bottom can be left in the same form as you cut, or you can give the cut a zigzag shape.
We make holes in the center. And we make a ring out of wire.
Now we turn the two parts towards each other with petals and in this position we string them onto the base.
We distribute them very tightly relative to each other.
You can simply plant them one after another.
From pasta
Pasta products are very pliable. They come in different sizes and shapes and are therefore great for crafts. And their price is quite economical.
On any base, purchased, cardboard, fabric or paper, we glue spirals, butterflies or shells.
They will hold best with hot glue. But you can also use liquid nails and super glue. When you fix all the products on the base, then paint it using spray paint.
I also liked the fur decor. Look how self-sufficient and chic it looks.
You can make it even simpler, just buy lots and lots of packaging bows.
Out of traffic jams
Some craftsmen came up with a very interesting idea for making decor from corks. I present two master classes.
The first option involves two turns.
The second option is also simple. But you just need a lot of corks.
If you have a foam base, you can use a toothpick to secure the parts.

Last weekend, people who were passionate about the New Year and floristry gathered around a round table in a cozy cafe. Creator of the flower workshop Aquamarine Flowers Alina Martynova told and showed how to make beautiful New Year's decor: a wreath made of natural fluffy spruce, the aroma of which filled the entire room. In this article, we will not hide any important details, so it will not be difficult for you to create your own wreath at home.
DIY New Year's wreath: h what you need and where to get it
Main ingredient - Canadian spruce. It does not crumble, but dries out: the wreath will hang calmly during the holidays, and next year it will be better to replace the branches. Canadian spruce has large and non-thorny needles, so it is pleasant to work with. In Moscow, branches can be purchased at the Riga market, where they also have a wide variety of decor with which we decorated the wreath.
Next you will need wreath base. If you like a fluffy wreath, then the appearance of the base is not important - the branches will cover it. In this case, you can buy a foam circle at a craft store or at a Crafts Fair. You can make the base yourself: cut a ring out of cardboard, and then tape crumpled newspaper or wrapping paper to it on one side to create volume.
There is another type of base - from twigs. They are sold at the same Crafts Fair (they may be in florist shops, but not for sure). This base does not need to be completely covered with branches; it is beautiful on its own.
You will need the following tools:
- thin black or green wire (less convenient options are fishing line or strong thread),
- scissors and secateurs,
- glue gun.
And of course decor. Here you are limited only by your imagination, but we used:
- cones,
- cinnamon sticks,
- coconut shell stars,
- Christmas balls,
- cotton,
- dried oranges,
- tapes.
Buy decor in multiple colors or hand paint it to make your wreath look brighter and more festive. Oranges, by the way, are not as easy to dry as they seem, so you can buy them (like pine cones, if you live far from the forest) in specialized stores.
Basic stage
Use pruning shears to cut large spruce branches into smaller “legs” - the desired size can be easily determined by attaching the branch to the base. These branches will need to be wrapped around the base using wire. Wire works best because it holds the structure together well, even if you let go of a loose branch. Due to the properties of the wire, the wreath can be additionally formed by hand after winding if the shape is not ideal.
Tie the wire to the base, then attach one or more branches (usually three is optimal to cover the front, outside and inside of the ring) and wrap. Try to guide the wire between the branches, rather than on top, so that it is less noticeable.
Add new branches, tucking their tips under the previous ones, continuing the winding. If there are gaps left, don’t worry - you can later add branches where there were not enough. If you wrap the entire wreath in a circle, move clockwise - this arrangement of branches is considered the most harmonious and positive. After finishing the winding, tie the wire into a knot on the wrong side of the wreath and cut it (if you wound it with a spool in your hand).
Take a critical look at what you've got. Using new portions of wire, add branches where there were not enough, or wrap protruding branches more tightly if they are out of order. The branches can be safely moved by hand, the structure will not be damaged: our wreath after wrapping turned out to be slightly oval, but a simple compression from the sides and displacement of a couple of branches was enough to correct the situation.
The wreath is ready, all that remains is to decorate it!
Wreath decoration
The main decoration tool is a glue gun. Plug it in and let it warm up. During this time, select decorative elements and arrange them harmoniously on the wreath. Here Alina gave some universal advice:
- There are two approaches: form groups of elements and then fill the voids between them, or evenly distribute the elements one at a time throughout the wreath.
- You can create groups from objects of the same type, the same shape or the same color - one or at most two parameters must match.
- Groups with three objects each look best.
- In groups, it is better to have connecting elements so that they come together in a composition: for example, the same object or color will be present in all groups.
- Arrangement of groups in an equilateral triangle should be avoided.
- The main thing is to try to avoid the “eye” effect - two identical or very similar objects symmetrically opposite each other. It will seem like the wreath is looking at you - we mean it. In this case, it is enough to place these elements diagonally - the effect is lost.
- Don't be afraid to place similar objects in pairs if that seems harmonious to you.
- Rely on your sense of beauty.
Gluing elements onto a wreath is very simple: squeeze a little glue onto the back of the decor, press it to the desired place on the wreath and hold for a while. The main thing is not to try to glue it into the air between the branches - we tested it, it doesn’t work. Try to recess the decor a little into the branches: this way it looks like part of the wreath, rather than lying on top, and it sticks better.
The last step is to decorate the wreath with ribbon, if desired. You can tie a bow directly on the wreath, or you can make it separately and stick it on top like the rest of the decor. The ribbon can be a fastener for hanging a wreath on the wall, or it can be a purely decorative detail. Then you need to make a wire loop on the back of the wreath.
The last thing left is a test of strength. Lift the wreath and shake it - if nothing falls off, then you did a great job with the glue gun, and the product will not be damaged even if you slam the door on which the wreath hangs. If it falls off, repeat gluing.
By the way! The wreath can not only be hung on a wall or door, but also placed on a table or chest of drawers, placing a composition of candles or a vase of tangerines in the middle.

An Advent wreath is an obligatory attribute of the New Year holidays, and recently a ring of pine needles decorated with satin ribbons and candles was a rarity among us. Created in the mid-19th century in Hamburg, the calendar wheel helped illiterate children of the poor count the weeks and days remaining until December 25, the birthday of Jesus Christ.
This beautiful tradition quickly spread throughout the world and before each New Year, more and more doors and windows show off to each other variously executed Christmas symbols. You can buy a ready-made wreath for Christmas, but it’s more interesting to make it yourself, decorate it in your own way, adding your favorite colors and details.

How to make pompoms: cut out two identical rings from cardboard, wrap them loosely with multi-colored fluffy yarn, cut the layer along the outer edge and, threading the wire between the layers of cardboard, pull the middle of the pompom together (see photo). The long ends of the wire will serve as fastenings between the pom-poms. Their number depends on the possibility and desire of the author, as does the final decor.
If you don’t have the skills to work with threads, knitting needles, or a needle, just wrap the ring in a knitted sweater - the texture of the knitwear creates a wonderful image of soft home warmth. One or two bright bows, a cardboard figurine of an angel, a deer, will remind you of the New Year holiday, Christmas.
