Video: Vest with knitting needles for children Winter vest with buttons Knitting according to patterns

Our sister Alena is an expert in knitting. Sometimes his next knitted masterpiece will motivate me to work on knitting. Seeing her awesome grass vest (which you can also admire here on her personal website), I also decided to knit something similar for myself. You can admire my works below. Although, no, I must admit, these are not only my works. Together with my mother (depending on who is free) I worked on these wonderful vests.

For this vest (which we knitted on 3.5 needles) I used 9 skeins of YarnArt Jungle yarn, 60 m each, and one skein of regular gray yarn, which I passed between 10 rows of grass (I knitted 2 rows of plain gray yarn so that the vest would hold shape, otherwise the thing made of grass stretches in different directions). However, I’m not saying that. These are just my conclusions. For size 42-44 I cast on 150 stitches. Subsequently, I crocheted the front shelves with the same gray grass. I also added a collar to this vest. Looks interesting.

Afterwards I wanted to knit another vest, but not so dense. See the result below. Here, too, 150 stitches were cast on on 3.5 mm needles. I knitted 4 rows with YarnArt Jungle grass yarn (silver fox) and 24 rows with plain black thread. It took 6 skeins of grass and 8 skeins of plain black yarn. The black yarn gaps are knitted in stockinette stitch, and the grass gaps are knitted and purled. The wrong side in this case is the right side, because it is on this side that it is more convenient to place the grass fibers. Here I crocheted the shelves with black thread. So that you can sew on buttons and make eyelets. I made the loops right away when I knitted the right front. I knitted 4 rows with double crochets. However, here you can improvise and either crochet it or not. In the photo, the vest is not buttoned, but tied with a belt. The elongated vest has a collar. I also knitted it on knitting needles. I cast on 100 loops. After every two rows I lowered 2-3 loops so that it would be narrower towards the neck. I knitted two rows with grass and two rows with plain black thread. The collar turned out thick and fluffy.

Below I propose to look at another version of a vest knitted according to exactly the same principle, but already shortened and without a collar. On the shortened vest, the fronts are not tied with a simple thread. Looks great too.

Cropped knitted vest made of YarnArt Jungle grass (silver fox). You can see this in the next article.

They also created a miracle for the kids and delighted everyone with new knitted items. The vest for a 12-year-old girl is cast on in the same way - 150 stitches, but on 3 mm knitting needles. Here, 8-10 rows are knitted with grass and 28 rows with a simple lilac thread. For girls 6-8 years old, 120 loops were cast on. It should be noted that everything is connected seamlessly. I didn't knit the back and fronts. I knitted everything at once. Having reached the chest, it was divided into the back, right and left shelves.

Album “Knitting is your hobby. Special issue No. 3 2012"

You need 20 of these motifs. Then we begin to assemble the yoke.

The front part of the yoke consists of 5 motifs, the back part consists of 3 motifs. I assembled them with crochet, but you can also sew them with a needle.

Then, using 5-7mm knitting needles from white grass, we cast on 40 loops loosely and knit a loose fabric so that it moves, we knit loosely until we run out of 2 skeins of 100g each. We knit two of these fabrics. I have a length of about 120 cm. And we sew the first fabric to the yoke with a crochet on the front side with black “grass” threads.

Then we tie the second strip of grass. I drew the diagram by hand.

From the side parts we sew 6 motifs with flowers in the center. We smooth out the corners, filling them with sts 1n and 1ch.

We tie the entire product with black grass, including the neckline. Everything. You can wear it and admire yourself.

    Description

    Body

    Using two strands of Yarn A, cast on 48 (52, 56, 60, 64) sts.

Rows 1 and 2: Using Yarn B, knit.

Rows 3–6: Using two strands of Yarn A, knit stitches.

Repeat Rows 1-6 until you have worked 20.5 (21.5, 23, 24,25.5) cm from start. Finish by knitting Row 2 or Row 4.

Divide the knitting for knitting the armholes of the back and fronts. Next, knit them separately, maintaining the stripe pattern.

    Right shelf

Dividing Row (front side): 8 (9, 10, 11,12) faces; place remaining 40 (43, 46, 49, 52) sts on stitch holder -8 (9, 10, 11, 12) sts. Place a marker on this row to mark the front side of the piece.

Continue knitting in stripes. When you get to row 3 or 5 (which will be the first row), work it as a decreasing row.

Decrease Row: Knit 1, k2tog with two strands of Yarn A, knit to end of row - 7 (8, 9, 10, 11) stitches in total.

Continue knitting in stripes, working each Row 3 and Row 5 as a decreasing row until there are 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) stitches remaining.

Using two strands of yarn A, bind off the loops, cut the yarn, leaving a long end (about 50 cm) for sewing the shoulders.

    Back

Return the next 24 (26, 28, 30, 32) loops from the loop holder to the right shelf, leaving the last 16 (17, 18, 19, 20) loops on the loop holder.

Dividing Row (right side): Cast off first 8 underarm sts, knit to end - 16 (18, 20, 22, 24) sts in total.

Continue knitting evenly, without decreasing in stripes, until the back reaches the same length as the right front.

    Close the loops.

    Left shelf

    Return remaining 16 (17, 18, 19, 20) stitches from stitch holder.

Separating Row (RS): Cast off first 8 underarm stitches, knit to end of 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) stitches.

Continue knitting in stripes. When you get to Row 3 or Row 5, work a decreasing row instead.

Continue knitting in stripes, working dec Row 3 and Row 5 until only 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) stitches remain.

    18) cm from the dividing Row. Finish by knitting Row 3, 4 or 5. With two strands of Yarn A, bind off the stitches, cut the yarn, leaving a long (about 50 cm) end of yarn for sewing the shoulders.
