A snood is a large circular scarf that can be wrapped several times around the neck or worn on the head instead of a scarf.

    • The snood is knitted simply: without complex repeats, adding or subtracting stitches, using a rectangular fabric.
    • You can knit a snood with crochet and knitting needles.
    • The volume of the snood depends on the density of the yarn, the thickness of the hook or knitting needles, and the knitting.

Snood is very practical, suitable for almost all types of clothing, warm and beautiful. This stylish accessory is especially relevant in winter.

Tying a snood is not difficult. Even a novice needlewoman can handle it. To knit voluminous snoods, you should purchase a hook with a thickness of at least 4 mm. Yarn also plays a big role.

Snood can be knitted with or without a seam. It is very convenient to crochet a circular snood without a seam. You can also knit a snood without a seam with knitting needles, but for this you will need circular knitting needles.

Knitting a circular scarf seamless is as follows:

    1. Cast on a long chain of chain stitches
    2. Close the chain into a ring
    3. Continue knitting the product according to the chosen pattern

We offer you ideas on how to crochet a snood for children with diagrams and descriptions of models in Russian.

If you want your child to look stylish and elegant, and at the same time be reliably protected from the cold and wind, then make for him with your own hands a knitted snood that is fashionable this winter season. This interesting wardrobe item can be made in several variations.

Beginning needlewomen can knit a snood in one turn with the simplest knitting. Women who already have experience in this matter can try making a two-turn scarf for their baby, which can be used both as a hat and as a scarf.

How to crochet a snood with a description for beginners?

    Simple snood for a child

    Knitting pattern for a scarf-collar

    • Before you start creating a scarf-collar, you should definitely figure out what dimensions it will have. Since you will be making a snood for a child, its dimensions will be very different from the standard sizes for an adult. After all, for example, a snood whose length is 150 centimeters will look extravagant on a child, to put it mildly.
    • Depending on the age of the child, the length of the finished product can range from 60 to 90 centimeters. If you are knitting a snood for a teenager, its parameters may increase to 110-120 centimeters. I would also like to say something about the material from which the snood is knitted. It is best for beginning needlewomen to choose a combination yarn consisting, for example, of wool and acrylic.
    • With such threads you will get a rather attractive and textured pattern that will beautifully fold into voluminous folds. It is best to knit such yarn with a crochet hook whose diameter is 4 millimeters.

    So:

    1. Take the hook in one hand, the thread in the other and begin to cast on the required number of air loops.
    2. When you have collected the loops, close the resulting chain into a ring and begin knitting the pattern.
    3. To do this, knit simple double crochets, always making sure that the loops are the same size.
    4. Continue knitting in this way until you get the desired size.

If you have never knitted in the round, then try crocheting a baby snood in an even simpler way. Cast on the required number of air loops and knit an ordinary scarf from them, without closing the first and last loops.

When the product is ready, all you have to do is carefully sew its edges and, if desired, decorate the fashionable new thing with interesting decorative details.

Winter crochet snood for boys: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    • Don’t think that a snood for a boy should be gray and faceless. If you want your son to also enjoy wearing a warm cowl scarf, then make it from a brighter yarn. A snood in green, blue, red, brown and muted lemon color would look good on a child.
    • And remember that knitting the pattern, which you can see a little higher, involves loosely knitting the loops; if you pull them too tightly, you will not be able to create the desired pattern. Also, do not forget to calculate the size of the future new thing as accurately as possible; to do this, measure the circumference of your baby’s face and multiply the data obtained by the number of revolutions that you plan to eventually get.
    • But still, even after receiving the necessary data, be sure to take into account the height of your baby, because if the child has large facial features and small stature, then the calculated indicators may not correspond to the desired size.
    • First of all, use a crochet hook to cast on 90-100 chain stitches
    • At the initial stage, knit a single crochet through the back loop
    • Knit 20 rows this way
    • After this, we knit one row with a single crochet and overlap it with three rows, knitted with a double crochet.
    • Next, we again knit 20 rows with a single crochet for the back loop

Crochet snood for a boy for spring, autumn: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Snood for a boy

    Knitting pattern

    • With the arrival of gray autumn, we always want to look at something beautiful and bright. Your son's snood could be such a colorful element. If you make it using several bright contrasting colors, then the finished product will look as original as possible. But when choosing threads, pay attention not only to their color, but also to their quality.
    • For example, if you decide to knit a snood for a one-year-old baby, then the yarn must be natural: cotton, silk or merino wool. For older children, you can take things from a combination of wool and acrylic yarn. But no matter what threads you choose, be sure to place them on your cheek before buying them.
    • If you feel even the slightest tingling, then refuse to purchase. Since children's skin is very delicate, even slightly rough threads will irritate it quite strongly.
    1. Calculate the size of the future product as we described in the previous paragraph
    2. Cast on a chain of chain loops of the required length
    3. We close the chain into a circle and start knitting a snood
    4. We knit the loops with a double crochet, periodically changing the color of the thread
    5. We knit at least 30 rows in this way.
    6. If you think that this width is not enough, add another 5-7 rows

Beautiful winter crochet children's snood for girls: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Scarf-collar for girls

    • The size of a winter snood may be slightly larger than that of a spring or autumn snood. In this case, it is best to make a product that can be wrapped around the neck twice. Two warm knitted rings will provide reliable protection for the child’s neck from frosty air.
    • But what’s most interesting is that you can easily use this model as a hood. If it gets very cold outside while walking, you won’t have to go back inside and warm your child. In order for your baby to feel comfortable in the cold, all you need to do is throw the snood over your hat, and you can walk around calmly for some time.
    • The size of such a scarf-collar can range from 90 to 110 centimeters. Select the width of the annual product taking into account the length of the child’s neck.

    So:

    1. Crochet 35-40 chain stitches
    2. Knit the first row with a knit stitch
    3. Knit the next row with a purl stitch
    4. Alternating front and back stitches, make the desired length of the scarf.
    5. When it is ready, sew the ends of the workpiece together with the same thread that you used during knitting.

If you want your snood to look even more cute, try decorating it with a delicate knitted flower. The knitting pattern for this original decor can be seen a little higher.

Beautiful crochet children's snood for girls for spring, autumn: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Snood for girls for spring

    Knitting pattern

    • Spring and autumn snood may have a less dense knit than winter ones. Therefore, in this case, you can try to make something for your baby that will emphasize the fact that she may be very small, but still a woman. Try knitting the lightest and most delicate patterns from yarn that will make the snood more airy and delicate.
    • But still, in this case, do not forget that you need to buy natural yarn for the scarf-collar. After all, the more synthetic threads it contains, the worse the finished product will prevent the cold from penetrating under the baby’s clothes. But when knitting such patterns, one nuance must be taken into account. If you want the pattern to be as voluminous as possible, then choose thicker hooks for knitting.
    • They will help make it more convex and noticeable. Thin hooks are more suitable for knitting dense, even fabric. But, perhaps, the most important advantage of crocheting is the ability to literally change the color and style of the future product with one movement. All this can be done on closed loops.

Openwork crochet snood for girls: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Crochet openwork snood

    Crochet snood: diagram

    • An openwork pattern always looks beautiful and elegant, but not all beginning needlewomen decide to knit it. But in fact, this intricate weaving can be done much easier with crochet than with knitting. Therefore, if you have been dreaming about an openwork thing for a long time, but never dare to make it, then try to make your dreams come true by knitting an openwork snood for your child.
    • When creating such a pattern, keep in mind that in no case should it be stretched too much while wearing. If you incorrectly determine the size of the future new thing, then the small holes that are in any openwork pattern can become deformed, and then the product will not visually look very beautiful.
    • Therefore, it will be better if you take an ordinary sewing tape and measure the circumference of the baby’s face as accurately as possible. By multiplying the data obtained by two, you will get the exact length of the snood of two turns. If you plan that the child will wear a scarf-collar without wrapping his neck, then the parameters of the face circumference will be the length of the snood.

    So:

    1. We crochet a chain of loops of pre-calculated length
    2. We connect them together and knit them from beginning to end with a single crochet
    3. Next, we knit the pattern as indicated in the diagram.
    4. We tie the loops from bottom to top, constantly reducing the number of repeats
    5. When you get the desired length, knit the row again with a single crochet
    6. Additionally, you can knit the last row with neat arches

Snood with crochet ears for boys and girls: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Snood with ears

    Knitting pattern

Snoods with ears can be a great alternative to hats. This model assumes that the child will wear it without additional twisting of the neck. Therefore, in this case, it is very important to know the height of the crown to which the cute ears will be attached. You can calculate the height of the upper part of the snood in the same way as you calculate the depth of a children's hat.

To do this, divide the circumference of the child’s head by three and subtract one from the resulting number. The only thing you can adjust yourself is the length of the bottom of the product. If you want the snood to just gently fall on your shoulders, then make it literally 30 cm long. If you want the scarf-collar to have beautiful folds, then knit it at least 50 centimeters in length.

    Knitting rules:

    1. We take the threads of the chosen color and begin to cast on the required number of air loops
    2. We close them into a ring and tie them with single crochets for 45-50 rows
    3. We change the yarn to a brighter and more contrasting one and knit the edging row
    4. Separately, we begin to make ears
    5. Using a hook, tie two round-shaped blanks and carefully sew them to the finished snood

Children's scarf snood crocheted hood: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Scarf-hood

    • Even beginner knitters will enjoy knitting a snood hood. If you choose the simplest knitting to make this warm product, then you can make a new thing for your baby quickly enough. It can be made in the same way as we described in previous paragraphs, perhaps taking into account some nuances. It is best to take the snood hood in a circle without any turns.
    • So that you don’t get lost or mess up, try marking the beginning of each row with a marker or pin. Yes, and remember the most important nuance of this model. In this case, it may not be possible to determine the size in a standard way. Since you still need the snood to stick well enough to the baby’s head, you need to understand that the initial rows should be slightly larger than the width of the face.
    • If you try to knit a scarf-hood based only on the width of the face, then in the end the child will not be able to freely put it on and take it off when needed. In view of this, if you want the snood to well protect the baby’s head from hypothermia, but at the same time it can be easily tilted back, then add another 5-7 millimeters to the measured width.

    Knitting pattern

A set of matching hats and scarves always looks very cute. And if you are not lazy and additionally decorate all this beauty with interesting decor, then your little girl will have things that no one else will have.

    We knit a snood:

    • We crochet 50 air loops and knit them with a single crochet
    • Next, go to the second row and knit it with double crochets
    • Alternating the front and back rows we make the fabric of the required length
    • We tear off a long thread from the ball and sew the edges of the scarf with it
    • As a result, you should have a ring with a neat inner seam

    Knitting a hat:

    1. We cast on 4 air loops and begin to knit them with loops of the same size
    2. Having knitted a couple of rows in this way, we begin to add loops in each row
    3. To do this, we knit each first loop of the motif with 2 half-columns
    4. If you are knitting a hat for a school-age girl, then make not 2, but 3 additions
    5. Knit the product with double crochets until you get the desired depth of the cap.

Crochet hat and snood for a boy: knitting pattern with description, patterns, sizes

    Snood knitting pattern

A set of a hat and snood for a boy can also be quite interesting. And if in this case you cannot afford any complex patterns, then you can compensate for the simplicity of the finished product with colors and textures.

To do this, try crocheting a set of thick yarn with a large diameter crochet hook. Blue, green or mustard yarn, crocheted with a large hook, will make even the simplest pattern more clear and noticeable.

    We knit a snood:

    1. We cast on 80 loops using a hook and connect the resulting chain into a circle
    2. We begin to knit loops, alternating double crochets and single crochets.
    3. Having tied the snood of the required size, we tie the last row with arches and break it off to the side

We knit a hat for a boy:

    1. Cast on 4 loops and close them into a ring
    2. Next, knit six single crochets into the resulting ring.
    3. In the second row, increase the number of stitches to twelve stitches
    4. Then we continue knitting according to the righteous pattern a little higher
    5. Once you understand that the height of the hat is enough, start knitting without increases.
    6. Finish knitting the crown by tying two rows with single crochets

A voluminous scarf, knitted in the round, can be worn over a coat, or thrown over your head instead of a hood. How to crochet a snood?

A description for beginners will be located below. Knitting work begins with preparation:

    • Select yarn and hook. You will need 400 grams of thread (15% wool, 75% acrylic) and a 7 mm hook.
    • The length of the snood is calculated as follows: measure the length of your face from the chin to the crown, and multiply the resulting figure by the number of turns that you plan to make around your neck with the scarf. The result will be a number that will be equal to the full length of your future snood. 400 grams of thread is enough for a scarf 166 cm long.

Now you can start knitting. Schematic illustration of crocheting:

How to crochet a snood - diagram

    Follow these steps:

    • Knit chain stitches. The result should be a chain 166 cm long.
    • Complete the chain from air loops into a ring. Only after this can you start knitting the pattern.
    • Knit 4 stitches, and insert the hook into the second loop.
    • Knit 4 more stitches. Hook up the working thread and pull it through the last two loops of the two resulting stitches.
    • Knit one stitch up. Pass the hook through the next loop and repeat the process of creating the pattern (tie two columns of 4 loops and connect them).
    • Knit to the end of the row, close it, and repeat the entire pattern from the beginning.
    • Knit like this until you run out of yarn.

Before starting work, determine the dimensions of the future scarf-hood:

    • Measure the height of your daughter's face from chin to crown, and multiply by 2 or 3 (number of turns around the neck).
    • The total length of the snood will be, for example, 120 cm.

    • Cast on 120 cm with air loops and close them into a ring.
    • Now knit 4 stitches.
    • Insert the hook into the second loop and knit 4 stitches again. Connect these two stitches by knitting the last two loops with a working thread.
    • Knit one stitch up and repeat the pattern.
    • Knit this way until the end of the row and close it into a ring.
    • Repeat the pattern until you get the desired scarf width.

Once you have mastered simple crochet, you can move on to more complex patterns.

    Use the following schemes:

Using this scheme, you will get the pattern described below. Read the description and create a masterpiece for your little princess.

Here are a few more patterns for knitting a beautiful snood for a girl:

Every mother wants to knit a warm hat for her daughter for the winter so that she covers both her head and neck. You can create a beautiful winter crocheted children's snood for a girl, which will both warm you up in the cold and become a beautiful addition to the girl's image.

This snood is beautiful to wear over a hat instead of a hood, or worn around the neck as a warm scarf. This accessory can be knitted using any pattern. In any case, it will turn out interesting and stylish.

Here is a description of a beautiful snood pattern that will be warm and luxurious:

    • Cast on 80-120 chain stitches using crochet hook No. 10.
    • Close the knitting in a circle, threading the working thread through the last loops.
    • Now knit a half double crochet: make one chain loop and yarn over the hook, and knit the next loop as usual. After this, knit all the loops on the hook (there are 3 of them).
    • Then repeat the pattern again with a chain loop and a half double crochet. Knit this way around the entire knitting ring. Connect the ring by crocheting through all the lifting loops.
    • Make a loop and pull it out a little to create a fluffy design. Now knit with a half double crochet (all loops are equally large), and pull the hook with the working thread through the resulting three loops. Fasten these loops and start knitting further along the pattern.
    • Knit this way until the end of the ring, fasten the loops and close the ring.
    • Knit the next row in the same way as the previous one, but each new loop of 3 begins with an arched gap, which is formed between the volumetric loops of the pattern.
    • When you have knitted the desired width of the scarf, you can finish knitting by closing the loops around the ring.

The sizes of the snood can be very different, depending on how many times you want to wrap this scarf-collar around your neck. Watch how to knit the puffy stitch pattern in the video below.

And here is another video describing how to knit a warm snood. The fishtail pattern is voluminous and dense, which means the scarf will be warm and comfortable.

Not only girls, but also boys like to wear a scarf-collar. Even little boys can wear a snood for an autumn or spring look.

To knit such a scarf for a boy, do not choose threads of too bright colors. Dark blue, green, brown, beige - this range of colors is great for creating a snood for boys.

The pattern should be simple, not lacy. Here is a crochet snood pattern for a boy for spring and autumn:

For knitting, prepare 2 skeins of yarn and hook No. 5. This is what you should end up with:

You can take multi-colored yarn, or you can make a single-color snood. If you buy another skein of the same thread, then there will be enough for a hat. Description of this knitting:

    • Cast on 320 chain stitches and knit a chain. Close the knitting to make a ring.
    • Now knit in the round with single crochets behind the back half loop. Insert the hook away from you on the knitted bottom row towards the wrong side. The result should be a “pigtail” of half loops.
    • Knit like this until you run out of yarn or until you knit a scarf of the desired width.

The result will be a relief snood with an interesting, but at the same time, openwork pattern. The size of the snood will be about 2 meters in full length. You can wrap yourself with this scarf 3 times - you will get a beautiful and warm product.

For a winter snood for a boy, choose thicker and softer yarn. The pattern, just like for a demi-season scarf, should not be complicated - everything is simple and easy. Also prepare a hook No. 4.5 or No. 5.

Description of winter crochet snood for boys:

    • Knit a chain of chain stitches. It must be at least 120 cm long. Use a connecting post to connect the beginning and end of the chain.
    • Now knit the lifting loops - there should be four of them.
    • Continue knitting with single crochets, but not with regular knitting, but with skipping and pulling through the base loop: insert the hook into the second loop from the beginning of the lifting loops. The first loop is passed, the thread is grabbed and pulled through the base loop.
    • There will be 2 loops on the hook; there is no need to knit them. Take the working thread with your hook and knit only one loop from the hook. There are again 2 loops on the hook.
    • Grab the working thread again and knit again only the first loop from the hook. Now knit both stitches together.
    • Continue to do this throughout the circular chain.
    • The result was a pattern: “pigtail” and a separate thread. Therefore, when knitting the next row, insert the hook so that a separate thread from the previous row remains behind the hook. Thanks to this technique, you will get a smooth transition from row to row.
    • Continue knitting, leaving a thread behind the hook, near each column.
    • Knit the third and remaining rows in the same way.

    You will get this pattern:

A snood with such a pattern looks beautiful on both little boys and teenagers. The size of the scarf-collar can be reduced so that the boy wraps his neck not three, but twice. This will make the image more solid and stylish.

Every mother can knit such a scarf. It's perfect for a girl. The child will be warm in such a collar, as it replaces a hat and scarf at the same time.

Snood with crochet ears for girls - description:

    • Prepare gray yarn and the rest of pink or another color for decorative finishing. You will also need a No. 5 hook.
    • Cast on 65 chain stitches with gray thread. Tie a chain and close the circle.
    • Single crochet in each stitch. Knit 50 rows like this.
    • Knit the last row with pink thread in single crochets.

Separately knit the ears (4 parts):

    • Using a pink thread, cast on 3 loops into the ring.
    • First row- 7 single crochets, connect into a ring.
    • Second row- 14 stitches - 2 single crochets in each stitch.
    • Third row- 21 stitches - repeat this knitting 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochets in the second stitch.
    • Fourth row- 28 stitches - repeat the pattern 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochet in the next 2 stitches.
    • Now take a gray thread and knit further: fifth row - 35 stitches - knit 1 single crochet 7 times in the first stitch and the same number of times 2 stitches in the next 3 stitches.
    • Sixth row- 42 stitches - repeat 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch and 2 single crochets in the next 4 stitches.
    • Seventh row- 1 single crochet in the first 8 stitches.

Once the ear pieces are connected, sew them together. After this, attach the ears to the snood, as in the photo. Here is the ear knitting pattern:

For a boy, you can knit the same snood, but use other thread colors, for example, the main one is dark green and light green trim, or the main one is dark blue and light blue trim.

The scarf can be knitted with a single crochet using the back loop. Below is a diagram of such a knitting:

Crochet openwork snood for girls - a simple diagram with a description:

    • Knit 85 chain stitches. Now according to the pattern: knit a stitch of 4 loops, one loop and again a stitch of 4 loops. Lower the last stitch into the fifth loop and knit to make a small circle.
    • Now knit 3 single crochets, 2 air loops and again 3 single crochets. Next, 3 air loops, attach one column to the 4th loop and again 2 air loops. After this, knit 1 double crochet into the 4th loop. Do this all the way through the chain to the end.
    • On next row pick up 3 stitches and tie two double crochets - you get a “slingshot”, as in the diagram. Now 3 loops and 4 single crochets, again 3 loops. Two double crochets, with a double crochet between them from the first row. Again 3 loops, 4 single crochets, and so on until the end of the row.
    • In the third row make 3 air loops, 4 columns should be tied to the columns of the previous row. 3 chain stitches and 2 single crochets. After this, knit 3 air loops and 8 stitches. Continue like this until the end of the row.
    • In the fourth row pick up 3 loops, make 8 stitches in 4 stitches of the previous row, then 1 chain loop and 16 stitches in 8 stitches of the previous row. So until the end of the row.
    • Fifth row knitted in the same way as the first one, but at the beginning you need to knit 1 stitch for lifting and 3 single crochets. In a “slingshot” knit 3 chain stitches, a double crochet, 2 chain stitches and a double crochet again. The last stitches should be knitted between the 8 stitches of the previous row.
    • Repeat this entire pattern until the end.- to the required length of the clamp. Connect the edges using a regular needle and thread.

Below are other openwork knitting patterns for a collar. One of these patterns will definitely inspire you and you will create a new masterpiece for your little princess.

Every mother can knit this pattern. Prepare threads of any color and some for finishing yarn in a contrasting color. You will also need a No. 5 hook and a couple of large buttons to match the main fabric. The sizes of the finished snood are suitable for children from 5 to 7 years old. Beginners need 1-2 days to crochet a snood. If you are just learning how to create knitted items with your own hands, and it seems to you that knitting a snood takes a long time, because you need to knit every row, then watch the following video. In it, a woman knitted a warm scarf-collar in just half an hour - quickly and easily.

Video: How to crochet a snood in 30 minutes?

The cold is already on the doorstep, so we urgently choose a scarf. We suggest crocheting a fashionable snood - a hood with ears. Snood has been a fashion trend for several seasons now. This is a great accessory that replaces a scarf. It combines both a scarf and a hat. The snood can be worn as a scarf, or as a hood. In the dark palette of this season there was no place only for black; it is successfully replaced by deep gray (different shades) and rich brown.

    Snood

A favorite of the catwalks - this is what the leading couturiers of the world call snood in 2015!

The width of the snood-hood is 31 cm (circumference 62 cm). Height 40 cm.

    Snood pattern

We knit the front and back stitches with embossed double crochets. If you don’t know how to knit embossed double crochets, the video is given at the end of the article.

Row 1 – double crochet (dc)

Row 2 – knit 1, dc, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, and so on until the end of the row

Row 3 – knit like the second row

Row 4 – purl 1, dc, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, so on until the end of the row

    Row 5 – knit like row 4

Then we repeat knitting from row 1. Decrements in this pattern are made like this: 2 stitches are knitted together. The work used yarn of three colors: white (1 skein), dark gray (2 skeins), and light gray (1 skein).

    Let's get started

Cast on a chain of 87 chain stitches in dark gray and close the chain into a ring.

1 row – 2 air loops for lifting, 87 SSN

2-6 row – knit according to the pattern

Row 7-9 – knit according to the pattern with white yarn

Row 10-11 – knit according to the pattern with dark gray yarn

Rows 12-16 – knit according to the pattern with light gray yarn

Row 17-18 – knit according to the pattern with white yarn

Cut the thread and close the knitting. We position the fabric so that the seam is on the left, as shown in Fig. 1. We will knit a notch for the face. In total we had 87 columns + the junction of the rows is considered a column, for a total of 88 columns. There are 44 columns on the front side, and we will work with them. First of all, the front part must be divided with markers or pins, there should be 12 columns between them. We will knit with light gray threads and turning rows. That is, knit in the round.

1 row – 76 columns according to the pattern

Row 2 – start with 2 air loops for lifting (Fig. 4)

Make 1 decrease at the beginning of the row and 1 decrease at the end of the row (74)

3rd row – 74 columns according to the pattern

4th row – decrease, 70 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (72)

5th row – 72 columns according to the pattern

Row 6 – decrease, 68 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (70)

7th row – 70 columns according to the pattern

Change the thread to white (Fig. 2)

8 -15 row – 70 columns according to the pattern

Row 16 – knit 70 stitches. according to the pattern with light gray thread

17-23 row we knit 70 stitches according to the pattern with dark gray threads.

Cut the thread and close the knitting.

Now we will knit the toe for the top of the hood. The top will be round. Now we have 70 columns, again we divide the canvas with markers so that there are 22 columns between them (Fig. 1).

1 row – 22 columns. according to the pattern with dark gray thread

Row 2 – decrease, 18 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (20)

3rd row – 20 columns according to the pattern

    Row 4 – decrease, 16 stitches, decrease (18)

5th row – 18 columns according to the pattern

    Row 6 – decrease, 14 stitches, decrease (16)

7th row – 16 columns according to the pattern

    Row 8 – decrease, 12 stitches, decrease (14)

9 row – 14 columns according to the pattern

    10th row – decrease, 10th column. decrease (12)

11th row – 12 columns according to the pattern

    12th row – decrease, 8th column, decrease (10)

13 row – 10 columns according to the pattern

    Row 14 – decrease, 6 stitches, decrease

Row 15 – 8 columns according to the pattern.

    Close the knitting (Fig. 4)

Now fold the toe as shown in Fig. 1 and sew it to the left side of the fabric. You need to hook the needle onto those loop walls that are marked with an arrow in Fig. 3. Otherwise you will get an unsightly seam.

Now we sew the cape to the fabric on the right.

We turn the hood inside out and make ears.

    Ears

Consist of two parts sewn together.

    1 piece white:

    2-3 row – 7 RLS

    Row 4 – decrease, 3 sc, decrease (5)

    Row 5 – 5 RLS

    Row 6 – decrease, 1sc, decrease (3)

7th row – knit 3 sc together, close.

    1 piece light gray:

    2-3 row – 9 RLS

    Row 4 – decrease, 5 sc, decrease (7)

    Row 5 – 7 RLS

    Row 6 – decrease, 3 sc, decrease (5)

    Row 7 – 5 RLS

    Row 8 – decrease, 1 sc, decrease (3)

Row 9 – knit 3 sc together and close.

We knit the 1st and 2nd rows in dark gray, then change the thread to white and knit 2 more rows. There were 6 rows of binding in total.

Your wonderful snood - the hood is ready.

Useful video on how to knit embossed double crochets.

Pattern: alternating knit and purl embossed double crochets.

    1st row: double crochets.

Row 2: 1 double crochet, 1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl and so on until the end of the row.

3rd row: knit as the second row.

4th row: 1 purl double crochet, 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit and so on until the end of the row.

Decrements in this pattern are made according to the same principle as, for example, in single crochets. Just 2 stitches are knitted together.

In this work I used threads of 3 colors: milky (1 skein), dark gray (2 skeins) and light gray (1 skein), White Leopard yarn from Color City.

First you need to cast on a chain of 87 air loops in dark gray and close it into a ring.

1st row: 2 chain stitches for lifting, 87 double crochets.

Rows 2-6: knit according to the pattern.

Rows 7-9: knit according to the pattern with milky yarn.

10-11: knit according to the pattern with dark gray yarn.

Rows 12-16: knit according to the pattern with light gray yarn.

Row 17-18: knit according to the pattern with milky yarn. Cut the thread and close the knitting.

We place the fabric in front of us so that the seam is on the left, as shown in Figure 1. Now we will knit the notch for the face. In total we had 87 columns + now we also count the junction of the rows as a column = 88 columns.

There are 44 columns on the front side, and we will work with them. First of all, the front should be divided with markers, between which there should be 12 columns.

We will knit with light gray threads and turning rows. That is, not in a circle.

1st row: 76 stitches according to the pattern.

Row 2: start with 2 chain stitches for lifting (Figure 4) and make 1 decrease at the beginning of the row and 1 decrease at the end of the row. (74)

3rd row: 74 columns according to the pattern.

4th row: decrease, 70 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (72)

5th row: 72 columns according to the pattern

6th row: decrease, 68 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (70)

7th row: 70 stitches according to the pattern.

8-15 row: 70 stitches according to the pattern
Row 16: knit 70 stitches according to the pattern with light gray threads.

Rows 17-23: knit 70 stitches according to the pattern with dark gray threads. Cut the thread and close the knitting.

Now we will knit the toe for the top of the hood. In general, here I encountered great difficulties. Most often, the top of a knitted hood is angular. I thought it was completely ugly, and I decided to make the hood round. I had to struggle, but, in general, a solution was found.

Currently we have 70 columns, again we divide the canvas with markers so that there are 22 columns between them (Figure 1).

1st row: 22 stitches according to the pattern using dark gray thread.

2nd row: decrease, 18 stitches according to the pattern, decrease (20)

3rd row: 20 columns according to the pattern

    4th row: decrease, 16 stitches, decrease (18)

5th row: 18 columns according to the pattern

    6th row: decrease, 14 stitches, decrease (16)

7th row: 16 columns according to the pattern

    Row 8: decrease, 12 stitches, decrease (14)

9 row: 14 columns according to the pattern

    Row 10: decrease, 10 stitches, decrease (12)

11th row: 12 columns according to the pattern

    Row 12: decrease, 8 stitches, decrease (10)

13th row: 10 columns according to the pattern

    Row 14: decrease, 6 stitches, decrease (8)

15 row: 8 columns according to the pattern. Closing the knitting (Figure 4)

Now we fold the toe, as shown in Figure 1, and sew it first to the left side of the fabric. Please note that you need to hook the needle onto those loop walls that are marked with arrows in Figure 3. Otherwise, you will end up with an ugly seam on the front side.

Now we sew the cape to the fabric on the right.

We turn the hood inside out and sew on the ears.

The ears consist of two parts that are sewn together.

    1 milky piece:

1st row: 7 chain stitches + 1 for lifting, then knit 7 single crochets (sc)

    2-3 row: 7 sc

    4th row: decrease, 3 sc, decrease (5)

    Row 5: 5 sc

    Row 6: decrease, 1 sc, decrease (3)

7th row: knit 3 sc together, close.

    1 piece light gray:

1st row: 9 chain stitches + 1 for lifting, then knit 9 sc

    2-3 row: 9 sc

    4th row: decrease, 5 sc, decrease (7)

    5th row: 7 sc

    6th row: decrease, 3 sc, decrease (5)

    7th row: 5 sc

    Row 8: decrease, 1 sc, decrease (3)

9th row: knit 3 sc together, close.

All that remains is to tie the place where we will have a face :)

We introduce a dark gray thread and knit stitches according to the pattern. To prevent the bend from narrowing, I advise you to make several increases (for example, every 6-8 columns).

We knit the 1st and 2nd rows in dark gray, then change the thread to milky and knit 2 more rows.

Then we change the thread again to dark gray and knit 2 rows. In total we will have 6 rows of binding.
