    In cold weather, needlewomen and creative people intensify their desire to create beauty. How else to survive days without sun and warmth?! Now is the time to think about decorations for the New Year and start knitting snowflakes. The more you have time to prepare, the better, because we will tell you many ways to crochet snowflakes with patterns: simple and beautiful!

    First of all, we will please those who are just starting to master crocheting: the patterns only seem incredibly complex, but in reality mastering several techniques will not be difficult. There is good news for experienced craftswomen: snowflakes can be the most different forms and sizes, so you can let your imagination run wild and create complex patterns that will truly be unique. Let's start with something simple.

    How to knit a simple snowflake - patterns for beginners

    First of all, let's understand the terminology and schematic images. If you're just starting to crochet, you probably don't know what all these signs on the diagrams mean. It will be most convenient to print or simply open this cheat sheet on the screen.

    Now let's look at a photograph of a simple snowflake.

    If you have experience in crocheting, you don't even need a diagram - all the loops and stitches are visible to the naked eye. We advise beginners to knit strictly according to the pattern

    First we make a ring of thread, after which we need to knit one lifting air loop.

    Create the first row:

    • knit 8 single crochets into a ring;
    • tighten the thread ring;
    • we knit a connecting column (the hook must be inserted into the first column of this row).

    Create the second row:

    • According to the pattern, we knit three lifting air loops and two air loops (five in total);
    • In the next loop we knit a double crochet;
    • we knit two air loops;
    • repeat the last two steps until the end of the row.

    Third row.

    • we knit a connecting post;
    • two air lifting loops and three double crochets with a common top;
    • knit five air loops;
    • next arch: 4 double crochets with a common top, five air loops;
    • continue knitting until the end of the row;
    • We close the row with a connecting column (we insert the hook into the common vertices of the columns).

    Fourth row.

    • one chain stitch and one single crochet in the same base loop;
    • a picot of three air loops and a single crochet in the same base loop;
    • picot of five chain stitches and single crochet;
    • picot of three air loops and single crochet;
    • three air loops;
    • into the common top of the following group: 1 single crochet, picot of three air loops and then according to the pattern described above;
    • We close the row with a connecting stitch into the first single crochet that we knitted in this row.

    The snowflake is almost ready, all that remains is to hide the threads.

    Pay attention to this snowflake.

    It looks impressive despite its simplicity and laconism, especially if it is decorated a little. The ideal option is to stitch it with silver beads or shiny silver thread. The diagram is presented below, and all the symbols are deciphered in the cheat sheet that we provided at the very beginning of the article.

    Lovers of minimalism and laconicism will appreciate one of these schemes.

    In the process of knitting these snowflakes, you will understand that they will need to be starched especially carefully; we will definitely tell you how to do this later. You can see what happens if you knit according to one of these minimalist patterns below.

    Beginners should not limit themselves to two or three shapes, because even those who hold a hook in their hands for the first time can show their imagination and create a unique and unusual pattern. Well, if you don’t want to experiment yet, we present to your attention a few more simple schemes.

    Openwork snowflakes, with beads, patterns for pros

    Now you can start making more complex snowflakes. As in the previous section, which we dedicated to those who are just mastering the hook and yarn, we will conduct one master class, tell you in detail how to knit a snowflake and provide several more patterns that you can implement on your own.

    So, this is what we should end up with.

    We start, as last time, with the ring.

    Row 1. 2 double crochets with a common top, 3 chain stitches. Do this 5 more times, then a connecting post.

    Row 2. We knit in one loop: single crochet, 5 chain loops, single crochet again, 4 chain loops. Do this 5 times, then a connecting post.

    Row 3. 3 double crochets, in an arch of 5 chain loops, 2 double crochets, 2 chain loops, in an arch of 4 chain loops, 1 single crochet, 2 chain loops. The end of the row is 2 double crochets in the first arch, 1 chain stitch, half double crochet in the third chain stitch.

    Row 4. In the half double crochet (which was just knitted): 1 single crochet, five stitches picot, single crochet, three stitches picot, 2 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in the second double crochet, three stitches picot loops, 2 air loops, under a single crochet - a connecting post. Half of the beam is knitted.

    We knit the next five in the same way.

    We continue to knit after the double crochet: 2 chain stitches, single crochet in double crochet, picot of three loops, 2 chain loops, under the arch - 1 single crochet, picot of three loops, single crochet, picot of five loops, single crochet, picot of three loops. Next are two chain stitches, a single crochet into a second double crochet, a picot of three loops, two chain stitches, and a connecting stitch under the single crochet.

    After 5 rays are ready, you can knit the sixth one: 2 chain stitches, single crochet, picot of three loops, 2 chain stitches, under the first arch - one single crochet, picot of three loops, connecting stitch. The snowflake is ready, you just need to fasten and cut the thread!

    If this snowflake works, try a few more options that require dexterity and skill.

    Any of the above patterns can be slightly complicated by adding bead decoration. Mark the points on the diagram that you want to decorate, count the number of beads and start stringing them on a thread. “Catch” the beads with your crochet hook and move them closer to the pattern as you knit the corresponding stitch or stitch, so that the bead ends up in the right place.

    This is roughly what your creation will look like.

    Before we move on to more complex things, such as a crocheted snowflake candlestick, we will prove to you that such hand-made decor is never enough.

    Ideas for using knitted snowflakes

    You can decorate with snowflakes christmas tree Moreover, it will look stylish and festive, even if there are no other decorations on it.

    Garlands made of snowflakes look great: try to be creative, combine different colors, decorate the garland with beads, beads, and sequins.

    Knit a set of identical snowflakes, glue them onto pieces of thick, bright fabric and use them as coasters or coasters for glasses and wine glasses - a festive mood for New Year's table guaranteed!

    Make a candlestick.

    Soon we will teach you how to knit such candlesticks for tea tablet candles and will definitely show you some interesting patterns.

    Or you can simply decorate the candles like this.

    Experiment with the design - we've already suggested that snowflakes can be decorated with beads, glass beads and sequins, but what about simple paint? Looks very interesting!

    If you connect snowflakes together, you get a beautiful napkin.

    Make your child an original New Year's accessory with your own hands.

    Or a napkin ring for the New Year's table.

    Volumetric snowflake

    Now that we’ve been inspired and realized that we need a little more snowflakes than it seemed at first glance, let’s move up to a higher level and try to knit something more complex. For example, three-dimensional snowflake(for warming up).

    It will serve as a cute decoration for the New Year tree, a great addition to any gift or a children's toy.

    Besides the hook and dense threads or yarn you will need a needle and padding polyester.

    We knit a ring of six loops and add as usual - one row in each loop. Then we begin to shift the loop that we will double. That is, we increase first through one loop, in the next row through two, then through three. And so on until we get 48 loops. The first part is ready, now you need to knit the second one. Place them together and stitch them together with a single crochet stitch until a small hole remains. Through it we fill the base of the future snowflake with padding polyester and sew it together until the end.

    We begin to knit rays: 1 single crochet – three chain stitches – double crochet in the 3rd loop at the base. Next, we cast on 8 air loops and knit a double crochet into this loop. Again 3 chain stitches and a double crochet in the third base loop. And so on until the end.

    Now we pass the connecting posts into the arch and perform the following actions:

    • in an arch of three loops we knit 4 double crochets and a picot of three loops;
    • in an arch of eight loops we knit a double crochet, then 2 more double crochets, 1 picot, 3 more double crochets;
    • we knit 3 picots in a row, in the same arch we knit 3 double crochets, picots, 3 double crochets;
    • we knit a picot and in an arch of three loops - three double crochets.

    We repeat the steps for the remaining rays.

    The snowflake is almost ready - all that remains is to decorate it. You can make a face like in the picture using threads or beads, you can embroider it with beads or leave it snow-white - it all depends on your imagination and preferences.

    Candlestick “Snowflake”

    We offer you a budget, but very cute gift option for friends on New Year. Such candlesticks with candles will decorate a chest of drawers, shelves and, of course, a New Year's table.

    To begin with, we knit a chain of 11-13 chain stitches and close it with a connecting stitch.

    Row 1. 3 chain stitches (instead of 1 double crochet), 31 double crochets in a ring. We complete the row with a connecting column in the third lifting loop.

    Row 2. 1 lifting chain stitch, 11 chain stitches, then perform the following steps and repeat them six times: skip 3 double crochets from the previous row, knit a single crochet stitch in the fourth, 11 chain stitches.

    Row 3. Chain lifting loop, 5 single crochets in the arch from the chain loops of the previous row, 2 chain loops, 6 single crochets in the same arch. So we knit into each arch of the previous row, instead of a lifting loop we now perform a single crochet. We finish the row with a connecting post in the lifting loop and cut the thread.

    We attach the thread to one of the double crochets of the first row and perform the second and third rows again.

    Row 4. Attach the thread to the arch of air loops of the third row (choose any petal). We knit 3 chain stitches and 3 chain stitches, a double crochet in the same arch, 2 chain stitches. The following steps will need to be performed and repeated 14 more times: double crochet in the arch of two chain loops of the next “petal”, 3 chain loops, double crochet in the same arch, 2 chain loops. We finish the row with a connecting column in the 3rd lifting air loop.

    Row 5. Connecting stitch in an arch of 3 chain stitches from the previous row, 3 chain stitches in lifting, 3 double crochets in the same arch, picot (5 chain stitches, single crochet in the first loop), 4 double crochets in this the same arch, single crochet in the arch of 2 air loops of the previous row. Now 4 double crochets in the arch of 3 chain loops of the previous row, picot, 4 double crochets in the same arch, single crochet in the arch of 2 chain loops of the previous row. We repeat the steps from the word “now” 14 more times.

    If it is more convenient to knit according to the pattern, use this one.

    Connect all the parts together, make eyes using beads or threads. You can also sew beads to the legs. The Sheep potholder for the kitchen is ready!

    Potholder Sheep video master class

    Potholder Sunflower

    We knit the front side using the same principle. Only now we add another yellow thread to create a variegated surface.

    When the second circle is knitted, you need to take both parts and connect them along the edge to each other using two yellow threads (in 2 threads) with single crochets.

    The sunflower is almost ready, there are still petals left. The petals are knitted in the round. For this thread yellow color in one loop we knit - 2 dc, 1 dc2h, 2 dc. Having skipped one stitch, fasten it in the next one. We knit this way along the entire edge. All that remains is to knit a loop by which you can hang the sunflower. To do this, between the petals you need to knit a chain of 20 VPs and then tie it with an RLS and secure it well. The sunflower is ready!

    Potholder Sunflower video master class

    Now we knit the head. We start knitting from the edge of the circle. We knit 8 sc, turning over, we knit another 8 sc. Turn it over again and knit 6 sc, making one decrease on each side, turn it over and make 2 more decreases along the edges. The thread was secured.

    Now we make the binding and loop. We start on the opposite side of the ladybug's head. We tie the sc in a circle, and, having knitted in a circle, we make a loop of 10-15 VP. Knit six spots, each of which has three circular rows (based on the principle of knitting the base of a potholder). Sew on circles and make eyes from either beads or white yarn. Tack Ladybug ready!

    Potholder Peacock

    You will need:

    • threads of different colors;
    • hook;
    • sequin;
    • thread;
    • needle.

    Description

    Torso

    The Peacock potholder starts with knitting the warp. Cast on a chain of 3 VPs.

    1 rub. – knit 7 PS in a circle.
    2 r. – we make increases (17 dc).
    3 r. – 37 SSN.
    4 rub. – 50 SSN.

    Tail

    The peacock is a creature with a gorgeous tail! Therefore, try to choose the threads to reflect the beauty of the tail. We knit an odd number of fans. They are knitted by knitting several DCs into one loop. We knit 4-5 rows in different colors. In each row we increase the number of loops in the fans.

    We tie it with the same thread that was used to tie the body.

    Good afternoon, today we will start crocheting very stylish and wonderful potholders in a New Year's theme. They will delight you with their elegant appearance in the kitchen. They will fill the interior with trembling anticipation of the upcoming New Year holiday.

    I have prepared for you detailed diagrams knitting - using them you can quickly and easily make such New Year's potholders.

    Let's start with the simplest potholder...

    Crochet potholder “Snowman looks to the sky”

    What you will need- a ball of white and blue threads and a little more for the nose. A piece of fabric for sewing on the reverse side.

    What you need to know– 1) knit double crochets 2) you need to be able to alternate threads of different colors in knitting. It's simple - I'll tell you right now...

    HOW TO KNIT A NEW THREAD OF A DIFFERENT COLOR...

    You need to take a new thread and make it on it one air loop and put it next to the loop (previous knitting) that you currently have on your hook. Thus, you have two loops hanging on the hook - the old color and the new color - We mentally count these two loops as one and continue knitting as if nothing had happened further with a new color – pulling the next stitch simultaneously through these two different-colored loops (as if it were one loop)

    Now let's get to work...

    STEP ONE – CROCHET A POCKET CLOTH.

    Chain row - we knit a chain of 27 chain stitches. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row

    First row (as in the diagram) – we knit 26 double crochets (the 27th stitch is the same 2 chain loops that we did to climb to the second row)

    Third row (as in the diagram) – 2 air loops for lifting a row + 26 double crochets... etc. according to the scheme.

    STEP TWO – MAKE THE NOSE AND EYES on a snowman potholder.

    I have drawn a pattern for knitting the nose and eyes below. There's nothing complicated there. The potholder will become completely New Year's, after embroidering snowflakes - you can entrust this task to your child - he will love making snowflakes.

    STEP TWO – MAKE A CONTOUR TRIM WITH A POTTACK HOOK and sew on the lining.

    As we can see, the edges of our potholder are not as beautiful as we would like - so we need to tie the entire New Year's potholder around the edges with single crochets - we make the stitches tightly so that the edge of the potholder is quite rigid and holds its shape well. At the corners of the potholder (to make the corner neat) we knit 3-4 stitches into one corner loop.

    We sew fabric onto the back of the potholder (you can make a layer of padding polyester or another layer of thick fabric. And that’s it – our new New Year’s potholder is ready.

    Now let's make another snowman-themed potholder

    SNOWMAN IN A HAT - in the form of a New Year's potholder.

    We will need yarn of three colors, larger buttons for the eyes and smaller ones for the mouth. And also a piece of natural white fabric for covering reverse side potholders (the fabric should be natural so that it does not melt when it comes into contact with hot pots and pans).

    STEP ONE – KNITTING THE POTT POCKET CLOTH.

    Air row(not on the diagram) cast on a chain of 17 loops + 2 air. loops for lifting to the second row.

    Second row(according to the diagram) - we knit 17 double crochets (the 18th stitch is replaced by 2 chain stitches that we cast on for lifting)

    Third row– dial 2 air. p. to rise to the third row - and knit a double crochet into ONE loop of the previous row - etc. according to the potholder knitting instructions below.

    STEP TWO – WE PROCESS THE EDGES of the knitted fabric of the New Year's potholder.

    Our knitted potholder fabric has rather clumsy edges on its sides (due to the fact that we added and decreased the columns - it always doesn’t look very aesthetically pleasing). We need to smooth out these jagged edges. To do this, we take the hook again and cross the edges of the entire potholder with single crochets - changing the colored thread accordingly when the color of the edge of the new potholder changes.

    STEP THREE – SEW THE FABRIC SIDE from the inside of the potholder.

    Our crocheted The pot holder on the reverse side has a bunch of knots and intertwined threads - and we need to hide it all.

    We take fabric (natural, so that it does not melt upon contact with hot frying pans) - and cut out the same silhouette of a potholder from the fabric. We will need to sew this fabric part to the back side of the new potholder (process this fabric part in advance, be sure to fold the cut of our fabric along the edges - and sew it on)

    If we want the potholder to be thicker, we can also make a spacer made of centipon or other thick material between the fabric and knitted sides.

    SANTA CLAUS AT A NEW YEAR'S POCKET.

    We will need– 3 small balls – red, white, pink (or beige) + 2 black buttons and one red for the nose. It will be much more beautiful if white threads will be slightly fluffy (but not mohair or angora - woolen potholders burn) there is such disheveled cotton yarn on sale - with tails and tassels - it will look great on the beard and mustache of our potholders Santa Claus.

    STEP ONE – KNITTING A NEW YEAR’S POCKET CLOTH.

    Air row (it is not on the diagram)– we collect a chain of 24 air. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row.

    Second row (according to the diagram) - we knit 24 double crochets (the 25th double crochet is the same 2 double crochets that we used to climb to the second row).

    Third row - dial 2 air. loops for lifting a row + knitting 24 double crochets.

    Fourth row - the same thing - but here a new knitting color begins... And you must know how to knit a new color thread(I just talked about this when we knitted the first potholder in this article).

    STEP TWO - crochet a MUSTACHE FOR GRANDFATHER COLA on a New Year's potholder.

    Now all that remains is to sew the eyes, nose and mustache to our New Year's potholder so that it looks like Santa Claus. Mustaches are easy to knit(here is a small diagram below) –

    Air row— 6 air. p + 1 air p for lifting –

    Second row - single crochet - double crochet - double crochet - double crochet again - single crochet - and finish with a connecting stitch.

    STEP THREE - we process the edges and back of the New Year's knitted potholder

    We process the edges of the potholder with single crochets - changing the color of the thread as we move along the colored zones. At the corners of the potholder we knit THREE single crochets into ONE corner loop (to make a neat corner).

    On the top of Santa Claus's hat - make a loop(6 air loops and we knit so many single crochets in them to get a neat “donut loop”).

    Cover the reverse side of the potholder with a cloth(if desired, you can make a layer of synthetic padding or fleece inside.

    Happy crocheting.

    STEP ONE - CROCHET A CLOTHED POCKET CLOTH.

    Chain row - we knit a chain of 27 chain stitches. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row

    STEP THREE - SEW THE FABRIC SIDE from the inside of the potholder.

    Our crocheted pot holder on the wrong side has a bunch of knots and threads intertwined - and we need to hide it all.

    We take fabric (natural, so that it does not melt upon contact with hot frying pans) - and cut out the same silhouette of a potholder from the fabric. We will need to sew this fabric part to the back of the new potholder (process this fabric part in advance, be sure to fold the cut of our fabric along the edges - and sew it on)

    If we want the potholder to be thicker, we can also make a spacer made of centipon or other thick material between the fabric and knitted sides.

    SANTA CLAUS AT A NEW YEAR'S POCKET.

    We will need- 3 small balls - red, white, pink (or beige) + 2 black buttons and one red for the nose. It will be much more beautiful if white threads will be slightly fluffy (but not mohair or angora - woolen potholders burn) there is such disheveled cotton yarn on sale - with tails and tassels - it will look great on the beard and mustache of our potholders Santa Claus.

    STEP ONE - KNITTING A NEW YEAR'S POCKET CLOTH.

    Air row (it is not on the diagram) - we collect a chain of 24 air. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row.

Mustaches are easy to knit(here is a small diagram below) -

    Air row— 6 air. p + 1 air p for lifting -

    Second row - single crochet - double crochet - double crochet - double crochet again - single crochet - and end with a connecting stitch.

    Such a cute potholder kind Grandfather Frost will make a great gift and a great decoration New Year's interior kitchens.

    Step-by-step process for knitting potholders

    Start knitting the potholder from the bottom. For each leg of Santa Claus, dial 9 v. p. and, starting from the second loop from the hook, knit 2 rows according to the pattern (1 square = 1 column). In the 3rd row, combine the knitting and continue working with one fabric, making increases and decreases and changing thread colors in the same way according to the pattern. In the 8th row, work with white yarn, in the 11th row - red, and in the 35th - beige.

    Knitting pattern for Santa Claus

    To move from row to row, you need to dial 1 point each time. lifting point.

    Tie the resulting workpiece. b/n, then “crawfish step”, using yarn of the corresponding colors. While tying, make a hanging loop at the top of the potholder: cast on 15 in. etc., secure the resulting chain using the connection. Art.

    Use white yarn to tie the eyebrows together. Dial 5 v. p. and knit a row of st. b/n. Sew the parts onto the tack using the photo as a guide.

    Using gray yarn, embroider with a chain stitch or crochet the contours of the beard, mustache and mittens; use red yarn to outline the contour of the nose. When crocheting, fasten the thread to the back of the product and, pulling the loops through the fabric, knit them, focusing on the photo and diagram.

    Iron the finished potholder through a damp cloth.

    Glue on plastic eyes or embroider the eyes of Santa Claus with a few stitches of black thread.
