    Children's sundresses have always been a popular look clothes for girls. Mothers love sundresses very much, and put them on their girls from an early age. This type of clothing is especially popular in preschool and school age. In kindergarten it is impossible to do without a knitted sundress. It is very comfortable and practical, and in cold weather you can wear a knitted blouse underneath. During school time, a knitted sundress is preferable to trousers.

    A knitted sundress does not interfere with the girl’s movement and does not twist like a skirt with a blouse. And in preschool education, not a single child of two to five years old can do without a warm and bright sundress.

    To tie such an openwork sundress Knitting for girls is easy. The description scheme is simple, any needlewoman can handle it. The sundress is knitted in stockinette stitch and only at the bottom edges are made with an openwork pattern in a simple pattern.

    It is better to knit an openwork sundress from children's yarn. Or choose acrylic yarn and 50% cotton yarn. It can withstand any washing temperature and does not fade. Products made from this yarn will keep you warm during the cold season. But a knitted summer sundress with knitting needles made from such yarn will not be warm. To knit an openwork sundress you will need:

    • 350 g of blue yarn;
    • two long knitting needles;
    • two small knitting needles;
    • knitting needle.

    It is knitted from two parts, straps, pockets and a butterfly. Made from blue yarn. At the age of two, blue is considered the most preferred color. Many psychologists recommend blue for girls under five years of age. This color dominates and calms the girl’s energy. Therefore, a blue sundress for a girl is knitted with knitting needles.

    Knitting pattern for sundress details

    Front detail. 76 stitches are cast on the knitting needles and knitted according to an openwork pattern of twelve centimeters. Then knitting in stockinette stitch continues. And a shawl pattern is knitted around the edges.

    When the length of the part reaches 30 centimeters (60 rows), simultaneously decrease 13 stitches in one row. Decrease is performed every five stitches.

    Knitting continues front part of the part. The remaining 63 stitches are knitted in stockinette stitch six centimeters. To perform side bevels, decrease 3 points on both sides. Decrease is done three times through two rows.

    The neckline is cut at a distance of 15 cm. First, 20 stitches are knitted, and 6 stitches are closed in the middle. Then continue knitting the remaining 20 p., 2 p. knit separately and decrease 1 stitch in every second row. from the front side. Decrease continues until 13 stitches remain on the needles.

    Additional details of the openwork sundress

    The back of the sundress is knitted in the same way as the front part of the sundress. Only the neckline is made at 18 centimeters. This is done so that the neckline is not too large. In the middle, it is not 6p that is decreased, but 8p. Everything else fits without changes.

    Straps. This detail can only be knitted with a scarf pattern. Cast on 13 stitches on knitting needles and knit 12 centimeters. After this you need to close all the loops. There are two of these straps made.

    Strip. The strip is also knitted with a garter pattern. Cast on 5 stitches on the needles. and knits 10 centimeters. Two of these strips are knitted.

    A mandatory element in stripes and straps is a hole for buttons. This hole is made with double air loops.

    Pocket. The pocket is knitted with knit stitches only. 18 stitches are cast on the knitting needles. and knits 12 centimeters. Afterwards all loops are closed.

    Scheme of sundress patterns

    For the openwork sundress, two simple patterns with descriptions were chosen, these are:

    • shawl pattern;
    • classic pattern.

    The scarf pattern is knitted from front and back rows. The first row is knitted with knit stitches only. The second row is knitted only with purl stitches. The pattern ends with facial loops.

    The openwork pattern is knitted with knit stitches, air and two loops together. In some cases 2p. together called broaching. The description of the pattern is simple, the main thing is to correctly position and calculate the loops. The main rule in this pattern is not to forget about the edge loops and after a row of chain stitches, the next row is knitted in stockinette stitch.

    The first row begins with three knit stitches, one pull stitch and a chain stitch. Next, you should knit as follows: one knit, one chain and two loops together. After five knit stitches, knitting continues as at first until the end of the edge.

    The second row is knitted according to the same pattern as the first. But it starts with two knit stitches, then knits one broach, one chain stitch, three knit stitches, one chain stitch and two together. Continues in this order until the edge.

    The third row is knitted with one knit stitch, one pull stitch and one chain stitch. Next, you need to knit five knit stitches, one chain stitch and two stitches together. Continue knitting until the end of the edge.

    For the openwork bottom of the sundress, you can choose any pattern. The main thing is that the pattern of the pattern should not be longer than 5-7 cm.

    Assembling all the details of the openwork sundress

    First, two main parts are sewn together with a knitted seam. A strap is sewn to the top of the back from the wrong side. The second strap is sewn in the same way as the first. Two buttons are sewn to the upper edge of the part at equal distances. Straps are attached to the buttons.

    Side with a strip is sewn on the wrong side. The second strip is sewn in the same way as the first. Buttons are sewn on the front side at equal distances. And stripes are worn.

    A pocket is sewn at a distance of 20 centimeters from the hem. The pocket should be level. The butterfly is pinned on the other side parallel to the pocket.

    The sundress is not completely sewn, but if desired, you can sew a seam along the edge on both sides. Then the side strips should be tied on both sides with holes. These stripes will be used to decorate the dress. Which can be unfastened if possible.

    A knitted sundress-cape will be an excellent gift even for a newborn baby; this style is popular for girls from 0 to 6 years old because it is easy and quick to put on, because it’s no secret that little children really don’t like to dress up. And knitters do not need to check the size exactly down to the millimeter - the product does not have side seams, so it will not fit very tight. For example, a pink winter sundress, decorated with leaves and flowers, will look very elegant on a baby.

    Description of the knitting pattern for the butterfly detail

    The butterfly is a free detail for an openwork sundress. Such decoration on a pin can be attached to any place on the product. For knitting butterflies would need:

    • 30 grams of white yarn;
    • two knitting needles;
    • safety pin;
    • two thin wires.

    The butterfly is made from petals, a body and antennae. The pattern for describing butterfly knitting is simple. The wings consist of four identical parts. They are voluminous and petal-like.

    The scheme is quite simple and even a novice needlewoman can do it. 3 stitches are cast on the needles. and is knitted with two shawl stitches and one knit stitch. The third row is knitted with two knit stitches, one chain stitch and two garter stitches. The next rows are repeated in the same way as the third row, only 2 stitches are added. in the back row.

    The air loop is knitted eight times, but the location does not change. That is, a row of eight air loops are made in one strip.

    After chain stitches, decrease in every second row by 1 stitch. The decrease is performed before the shawl pattern. In this case, reducing the detail serves the function of narrowing the bottom. Four of these petals are knitted.

    The body of the butterfly is knitted using stockinette stitch. 7 stitches are cast on the knitting needles. and ten rows are knitted. And only after that the loops are closed.

    The antennae are not knitted, but wound onto a thin wire. White yarn is tightly wound onto a five-centimeter wire.

    Sewing the butterfly parts

    First, the body of the butterfly is sewn together. The part is folded in half with the wrong side and tied with a knitted seam. Leaving one hole - this hole is formed into the head of the butterfly.

    Cotton wool is carefully pushed into the hole. And antennae are carefully attached to the edges of the wrong side. Afterwards the hole should be tied, forming a round shape.

    The petals are sewn to the body. Two petals on one side. The petals should lie so that they look like a single butterfly wing.

    The pin is attached to the other side of the body. Pre-winding the thread all the places of the pin. You can attach the pin to the body in another way. An incision is made in the body and a pin is inserted there. The torso is carefully sutured, leaving only the needle and eye of the pin.

    Openwork sundress for girls and women

    Children's sundresses can be either warm or summer. Warm sundresses are knitted from 100% wool. When choosing such a sundress, you need to take into account the fact that it can become heavy and limit the child’s movements. It also wears out quickly and shrinks after each wash, so it’s important to choose the right yarn.

    1. STYLES OF KNITTED SUNDRESSES FOR GIRLS

    After this, we knit 4 rows with the Moss pattern.

    We close all the points according to the drawing.

    Mittens

    We transfer the removed 10 pts to the stocking needles, raise another 36 (44) pts along the armhole as a lc, connect them in a circle.

    We knit 10 k/r with the Moss pattern. We close all the points according to the drawing.

    Completion

    Take a hook and, starting from the right side of the neck, from the back, make a buttonhole from a chain of chain stitches. We sew this button on the opposite side of the back neckline.

    We are blocking.
