    30.07.2019

“We go to kindergarten, but only for a couple of hours,” this is a phrase you can hear from mothers whose children attend short-term groups. Some come only for a walk, others come for classes, and still others are even in kindergarten with their mothers. As it turns out, the forms of first acquaintance with a preschool institution can be different. Cheldiplom.ru found out what a short-stay group is and whether enrollment in such a group affects the overall queue for kindergarten.

Many parents, looking at the electronic queue for a kindergarten, are surprised to discover that their child’s status is “Attends a short-term stay group.” This happened with Elena, the mother of a two-year-old girl: “I came in to check if the line had moved and if we could get a ticket to kindergarten this year. I saw that my daughter was somehow magically attending a short-stay group. However, no one informed us about this. I called the kindergarten, they offered to undergo a medical examination and walk with the children on the kindergarten playground.”

    Short-day groups may be different

Short-term groups appeared in Chelyabinsk a long time ago; now they are in many preschool institutions in the city. “A short-term stay involves the presence of a child in kindergarten from three to five hours a day, but despite this, he is a full-fledged pupil participating in educational activities. This time does not include food and sleep, that is, the baby comes, for example, after breakfast, attends classes, goes for a walk, and then is taken home,” explains chief specialist of the Committee for Education Affairs of Chelyabinsk Tatyana Batalova.

According to Tatyana Batalova, each educational organization decides independently how long a child can be present in kindergarten and what is included in the educational program: “In some kindergartens there are so-called mother’s schools, when mothers are in a group with the child. But if the kindergarten does not have the opportunity to allocate a separate teacher and room for the whole group, then the child is accepted into a regular group or is invited only for a walk.”

Children attending the short-term group at kindergarten No. 31 are lucky; a separate playroom has been created for them, in which they can stay with their mothers. “We accept up to 25 people into such a group, there is no end to those who want to join us,” says Deputy Head Svetlana Alabugina. – Children aged 2-3 years are with us from 10:00 to 13:00. This time includes classes and a walk. A speech therapist, a psychologist, and music worker, instructor physical education. All this is free. Once we receive the license, parents will be able to choose additional paid educational services so as not to transport the child to different parts of the city. Mothers are very grateful to us, because in our classes they see how they can simply tell their child about difficult things, how to play with them, and what forms of developmental activities there are. It is very important for us to teach parents and children to interact with each other.”

To kindergarten - without leaving the queue

Having learned that the child is enrolled in a short-term group, parents begin to worry that they were not enrolled in a priority kindergarten. But these fears are in vain. “This is a kind of invitation from the kindergarten. Parents should understand that they have the right to accept or refuse this invitation. In any case, visiting a short-term group does not affect the queue and cannot become a reason for refusal to provide a place in a full-day group and does not mean at all that a place will be provided in this particular kindergarten,” explains Tatyana Batalova.

If parents agree for their child to attend a short-term group, they must provide the child’s medical record and enter into an agreement with the educational organization.

The Education Committee of the city of Chelyabinsk emphasizes that short-stay groups are a good option for parents whose children have not yet been provided with places in kindergartens. Such groups allow children to better adapt to kindergarten, learn to communicate with peers, and spend time interestingly and usefully.

An invitation from a kindergarten to visit a short-term group can be received throughout the year, but parents can themselves call the kindergarten of their choice and find out whether such a group operates in the institution and whether there is a free place in it.

Parents can also ask any questions they may have by calling the preschool education department of the Chelyabinsk Education Committee at 263-68-18.

How does the GKP differ from a regular kindergarten group?

GKP is an alternative to nurseries. Usually it recruits children aged from one and a half to three years. True, in some regions of the country, where there is a particularly acute shortage of kindergartens, such groups enroll children from three years old. The group size is from 17 people. She works from three to four hours a day, usually from 9 am to 12-1 pm. However, meals are not provided for students.

Is it intended only for beneficiaries?

Anyone can join the GKP. Only for this you need to declare your desire and stand in line. Usually for short-term groups there is a separate queue and age limit for which a child can get there. You can find out about the conditions of your particular city in the administrative department at preschool education. In the queue for the GKP, the same rules apply as in the regular queue for kindergarten, that is, those outside the queue and other beneficiaries get places first, then the rest of those who wish to do so.

Is a medical card required for GKP?

Yes, the short-stay group requires the same medical examinations that I require for the regular group. Tests are also required: urine, blood, test for worm eggs and enterobiasis.

How to distribute the daily routine and nutrition of a child when visiting a public hospital?

Usually, before 9 am, the child should already be in the group, and therefore before this time he must be woken up, fed and dressed. Accordingly, when visiting the GKP, the daily routine should correspond to the usual gardening regime: early rise and early bedtime (at 9-9.30 pm), and the child must also have a mandatory nap. As for nutrition, the baby should be fed at home - in the morning until 9 o'clock, and then, after visiting the garden, with lunch.

Is it possible to give my child food with him?

It all depends on the rules of the kindergarten and the teacher. Usually, the GKP provides the opportunity to drink, but if there is no cooler, it is worth agreeing to give the baby a bottle of water with you. Teachers often allow children to take a light snack into the group, such as cookies or an apple.

What developmental activities are provided in the GKP?

Classes in the short-term group are the same as in the regular group. As a rule, this is modeling, drawing, designing, appliqué, music games. Group students can have from one to two classes per day. And, of course, a walk.

    What is the parental fee?

Since meals are not provided in the GKP, the parental fee is small. Usually from 1500 to 2000 rubles per month (up to 100 rubles per day). Agree, hiring an hourly nanny is much more expensive. In addition, beneficiaries (large families, orphans, disabled people, etc.) can submit documents for compensation of part of the payment.

Are there extortions in the State Communist Party?

The GKP is the same group, only with a shorter day, and therefore a parent committee is also formed there, and certain relationships are formed with teachers. And if parents want to congratulate teachers on holidays, give gifts, improve conditions in the group, they may need the Nth amount. But everything is agreed upon in advance parent meeting, and you can always speak out against it.

Can they not let me into the Civil Police Department?

If you have taken turns in the short-stay group and provided a medical card, then there can be no reason for refusal. The only thing is that visiting a child may be temporarily limited (for up to a month and a half) if he does not have a vaccination against polyemelitis, and the group is undergoing mass vaccination against this disease.

There are short-term groups in almost every preschool institution. They are intended for children aged 2 to 3 years. If a specialist from the HR department confirms the availability of free places, you must bring to the preschool institution a photocopy of the baby’s birth certificate and a printout from the Internet or an extract, which will indicate the individual number issued when the child was placed on the waiting list for kindergarten. An extract can be obtained from the city Committee for Preschool Education.

The kindergarten management sends copies of documents to the Committee, and after receiving approval, parents can already apply for admission to the kindergarten. At the same time, they must have in their hands the child’s medical card with the medical examination passed.

To pass the commission and receive a card, you must go to the clinic at your place of residence. You can see all the doctors much faster in one of the paid clinics, but this will not be cheap.
