In 1938, he was noticed by the famous fashion designer Robert Piguet, but the war prevented the rapid development of his career. Dior joins the army and serves in the south of France. But already in 1941 he returned to Paris and worked for the famous fashion house Lucien Lelong.

    In 1942, Christian created a perfume laboratory, which later grew into the Christian Dior Perfume company. “It’s enough to open the bottle for all my dresses to appear, and for every woman I dress to leave behind a whole trail of desires. Perfume is a necessary addition to a woman’s personality, it’s the final chord for a dress, it’s the rose with which Lancret signed his paintings,” - Dior later explained his plan.

    Together with his partner Jaques Rowet, Dior pioneered the use of licensing agreements in the modeling business. Already in 1948, he streamlined the licensing of the production of his models in various regions of France and around the world. Thus, the Dior brand name quickly appeared in all corners of the globe.

    The great designer died on October 24, 1957 at the age of 52 in Montecatini Terme (Italy, Tuscany). There is now a museum in his family home in Granville.
