    04.07.2020

Greetings to all lovers of a healthy lifestyle and sports!

Every person in his life always faces a choice: life situations or different directions, sometimes we don’t think about the choice, and sometimes there is a certain problem. In our case, we will discuss the question of how to choose the right one sports shoes for sports or fitness. Shoes are an integral accessory when playing sports, fitness, or in general any active lifestyle. For starters, why do we need sports shoes? After all, sports shoe manufacturers are aimed at a specific sports area. For active recreation, fitness, running, even weightlifting, there are their own shoes. So you come to a sports store and your eyes widen at the variety and rainbow of colors of sports shoes. Mostly sneakers.

If you love to travel walking in the fresh air, then you need to pay attention to sneakers with strong textured soles, and with a shock-absorbing effect. Walking over rough terrain does not have a flat and smooth surface, so sneakers with soles should look a little more massive, the sole is fully stitched and the top of the sneakers should be made of material that will protect when weather conditions change. Usually it is leather or rubber. Walking down the street is full of surprises, so to protect your ankles, it is better to choose high-top sneakers to protect your feet from dislocations. But even in this case, the material for walking sneakers is “breathable material.” For walking, you can consider sneakers. They are high, with a durable sole, inexpensive ones are very fashionable among young people. Pay attention to the size, because when the weather changes, especially women wear warm socks, if you are one of them, keep this in mind.

For indoor activities, in the fitness room, you need to pay attention to sneakers with a membrane, they should allow air to pass freely and your feet during intense exercise will not feel discomfort and will not sweat. Take the sneakers in your hands and bend them, free bending without cracking or effort speaks about the quality of the sneakers. Only leather ones sneakers will provide you with a convenient and comfortable activity. Leather has the ability to change elastically, hence the shelf life only increases. Since you are constantly on the move in the gym, fitness sneakers should be light and comfortable. Pay attention to the color, bright rainbow colors give an impetus to going to the gym, so choose colorful and pleasant-looking sneakers. Some people from childhood do not like lacing, so for those who find it difficult, you can consider the option of sneakers without laces. However, you need to pay attention that the absence of laces on a sneaker does not always fit the foot well, choose shoes in which your feet stand well and won’t fall off at the right time under intense loads.

If you are passionate about taking up running. Then the sports store has a range of sneakers just for
running. They have a low level to give aerodynamics when running, unlike others, they are the lightest. The sole merges with the shoe, the air cushion in the heel and toe area is very elastic when running, giving lightness and excellent springiness when in contact with the stadium treadmill. This running shoe is moisture resistant and does not let water in. It is necessary to select a size so that the foot fits comfortably and at the same time firmly into the running sneakers. There are also spikes on some running sneakers.

If you are doing aerobics or shaping, then you need to choose high shoes to protect the ankle joint. The load when doing aerobics mainly falls on the front of the foot, pay attention that such shoes have an air cushion in the front part.

Sneakers for classes football called boots, have on
the sole has a row of spikes that promote close contact with the grass surface of the football field and are excellent for striking. The main material used in the manufacture of boots is leather. Select the size at your discretion, preferably right to size. In the future, you wear them out during the game, and For example, the famous football player Roberto Carlos liked to play in boots one size smaller, this allowed him to feel the sock when hitting shots on goal.

To basketball shoes the requirements are as follows. Basketball is a very active game, so the sneakers should be light. Have ventilation holes on the outside. Have thin soft material inside. The sole of the basketball shoes should be soft and non-slip and elastic, because the game of basketball is played mainly on parquet coating.

If you seriously decide to take up tennis, then pay attention to sneakers with a high back; with sudden changes in movement, the heel does not drop completely; they have strong lacing and a slightly grooved sole. The foot and shoes must be one unit in order to prevent injury.

Of course, when visually inspecting sports shoes, you need to try them on. Try to take with you the socks that you will wear. Walk around the store, the comfort and stability in them will tell you that these are the sports shoes that suit you. Now you know how to choose the right sports shoes. To choose sports shoes for children, go to this one. I wish you success in achieving sports results and leading a healthy lifestyle. Sincerely, Sergey.

So when choosing a new pair of sneakers, follow these tips:

    1. If possible, purchase sports shoes in specialized stores. The store staff will provide you with all the necessary information regarding the category of sports shoes that are needed for the sport you are involved in, and will also help you choose a pair the right size. This purchase may not be cheap, but believe me, it's worth it, especially if you plan to use this pair of shoes often.
    2. You should try on shoes after a workout or run, and preferably at the end of the day, since this is when you can determine your maximum shoe size.
    3. When trying on sports shoes, wear the same socks that you plan to wear during training.
    4. Once you've put on your favorite pair of athletic shoes, try wiggling all of your toes - ideal if you can do this easily.
    5. You should be comfortable in your new shoes right away, when you first try them on. in this case You shouldn’t make allowances for the fact that shoes wear out over time.
    6. Take a short walk or even a short jog in your new pair of athletic shoes and you should feel really comfortable.
    7. Always re-lace athletic shoes when trying them on. First, thread the laces through the holes closer to the toe of the shoe, and then tightly lace the sports shoes in a criss-cross manner towards the shin, all the way to the end.
    8. Shoes should fit tightly around the foot at the heel. Your heels should not slip in your running shoes when you walk or run.
    9. If you exercise three times a week or more, you'll definitely need a pair of performance shoes.

It may be quite difficult for you to choose from the wide range of sneakers and sports shoes on sale. Many models differ in design, materials from which they are made, and even weight. These differences are present because sports shoes are designed to protect one or another part of your feet that experiences maximum stress when playing certain sports.

All models of sports shoes are conditionally divided into the following categories: shoes for running, for training in the gym and for race walking. This list also includes shoes for hiking, jogging, and walking exercises.

If you're shopping for race walking shoes, look for a pair with a comfortable soft upper, good cushioning, smooth treads, and a curved sole that will naturally follow the movement of your foot as you walk. As for good running shoes, they should be elastic, soft, fit snugly to the heel without allowing it to slip out, and also be light in weight and have good traction characteristics.

    Footwear for game sports

    Team Sports Shoes

This category includes soccer cleats and baseball shoes. Typically, these are sports shoes with overlays and lumpy or spiked soles. The bumpy texture or spikes on the soles look different depending on the sport for which a particular shoe model is intended, but in general they are removable or easily replaceable pads with spikes or wedge-shaped or hemispherical formations on nylon soles.

    Athletic shoes

Due to the specific needs of runners, athletic shoe companies produce a large number of models for different types feet, different styles race walking and running and various types of training.

    Shoes for specialized sports

Outdoor Sports Shoes This category includes sports shoes for any type of recreational activity such as hunting, fishing or rowing.

How to find out what kind of sports shoes are right for you

If you exercise three times a week or more, you will definitely need professional sports shoes. Remember: after 300-500 miles of running or 300 hours of aerobics, the cushioning materials on sports shoes wear out and there comes a time when it’s time to throw away the pair.

    The agony of choice

The fitness craze over the past 25 years has led to rapid growth in the athletic footwear industry. By comparison, athletic shoe shoppers in the 1960s had only one option to choose from: all-purpose sneakers. Today's shoppers have to choose from hundreds of brands and styles of athletic shoes that are specifically designed for specific sports or activities.

For some, such a variety of choices is simply confusing, especially when sports shoe companies, year after year, introduce more and more sophisticated, high-tech models with cutting-edge designs and the latest functional characteristics.

Advertising in glossy magazines and television commercials never tire of emphasizing the new functionality of each model, but this helps very little when individually choosing the optimal pair of sports shoes.

How to choose the right running shoes and what to look for (video):

Existing brands are not always able to offer something that meets the individual needs of each client, and innovative technologies, used in the production of new expensive models sneakers, like their new functional characteristics, are not always exactly what you need.

The information we provide below will help you choose the most suitable pair of sports shoes, thanks to which you will truly enjoy your sports activities and reduce the risk of injury during sports training.

This is information about what exactly you should pay attention to when choosing shoes for a particular sport and choosing the design of a sneaker model in order to ensure maximum comfort and reduce the possibility of injuries during sports training, as well as how to choose the right the required form and sports shoe size for certain foot problems.

Conventional wisdom holds that running shoes should provide enough cushioning to absorb shock, but there is another view that the optimal running shoe should include a minimal amount of cushioning.

There is currently no reliable evidence to support the truth of the first or second statement, but if you are choosing a pair of running shoes with good cushioning, make sure that the shock absorbers soften the impact across the entire area of the foot and that the shoe fits snugly around the heel.

While not a panacea, all of the above running shoe features will at least help you prevent post-exercise anterior calf pain, tendon inflammation, heel pain, stress fractures, and other physical-related conditions. overloads.

Those who jog need shoes with good shock absorbers that soften the impact as much as possible.

Running shoes are designed to provide maximum cushioning across the entire foot area. Such shoes should also provide good heel support.

This, of course, will not save you from all problems, but sneakers with such characteristics will at least help you prevent pain in the muscles of the anterior region of the leg after excessive physical activity, inflammation of tendon tissue, heel pain, stress fractures and other syndromes associated with physical overload during training.

    Walking shoes

If race walking is exactly the sport that doctors recommended to you to strengthen of cardio-vascular system, you should opt for lightweight sneakers. Look for a pair with as much cushioning as possible in the heel area, and especially under the balls of your feet (metatarsal area). This will help prevent heel pain (plantar fasciitis and calluses) and also prevent burning or discomfort under the pads of the fingers (i.e. metatarsalgia).

Shoes with slightly rounded or curved soles will also help you gently shift your weight from heel to toe, reducing stress on your feet.

Race walking shoes typically include a stiff toe box to allow you to gently transfer your weight from your toes to your heel, rather than having to curl your toes as you might when running in softer athletic shoes.

Shoes specifically designed for aerobics should be lightweight to help you avoid overstressing your leg muscles and to provide maximum cushioning under the balls of your feet (the metatarsal area), the area that receives the most stress.

If possible, use an additional fitness mat during training.

Tennis players need shoes that will provide good support during quick side-to-side movements or when shifting body weight. It is important to choose a pair of shoes that will provide secure fit and stability from both the inside and outside.

The flexible part of the sole under the balls of your feet will allow you to make quick, frequently repeated movements while reacting quickly to shots under the net. If you play tennis or other racquet sports, the cushioning of your sneakers should be slightly less than the athletic shoe models described above. On soft courts, you should wear shoes with softer soles that provide good traction, but on hard courts, you need shoes with harder soles or treads.

If you play basketball, you should choose shoes with thick, hard soles. This provides additional balance while running across the basketball court.

High-top sneakers also provide additional support, but do not always protect against ankle sprains or other injuries.

    Shoes for side sports

Secondary sports shoes, or more simply put, sneakers, incorporate some of the above features so that you can use them when playing more than one sport. Nice sneakers should include soft sock, which is necessary for running, plus good fixation in the side parts, which is mandatory for aerobics or tennis.

You don't have to buy a pair of athletic shoes for every sport you play.

The main rule is to purchase special shoes for professional sports if you have more than three sports training sessions per week. If for some time you have been training using a certain model of sports shoes, and at the same time you have not had any injuries, you should opt for it. In this case, there is simply no need to change anything.

If we talk about individual characteristics structure of the foot and the associated difficulties when choosing shoes, perhaps a pair of sports shoes with high level depreciation is not the best the best choice for those who suffer from hypopronation of the foot.

If you frequently sprain your ankle, you may need shoes with a wide heel. If you often experience pain in the muscles of the anterior region of the leg after excessive physical activity, then you may need sports shoes with increased level depreciation.

    Characteristics regarding design

Sports shoes can vary greatly in terms of design and materials used to make a particular model. Before you decide to buy a pair of sneakers, take a look inside. This will help you choose shoes that not only fit your shape and size, but are also comfortable for your favorite sport.

Special design characteristics of this or that model will provide you with additional wearing comfort and help prevent injuries:

Shoes using the stitch-and-glue fastening method are usually made by first sewing the upper part together (like moccasins) and then gluing the upper part to the sole. This adhesive fastening method ensures the shoe light weight and makes it elastic - which means that when a torsion test is carried out, there is no stiffness in it.

As for shoes produced using the stitch-adhesive-bead fastening method, in which the upper part of the leather or canvas sneakers is sewn to a material resembling cardboard in structure, then for those with flat feet, such sports shoes will provide more reliable support and foot fixation.

Sports shoes, in the production of which a combined stitching and adhesive fastening method is used, have the advantages of both of the above types.

When producing such sneakers, a stitch-adhesive fastening method is used in their front part, and a stitch-adhesive-bead fastening method is used in the back part, and thanks to this, sports shoes of this kind provide excellent fixation of the heel and remain elastic in the front part, under the toes. These sneakers are great for many athletes with... different features foot structure.

    Correct shoe size

Even the best designer sneakers won't function if you're wearing the wrong size.

You will avoid a lot of problems later if you choose an athletic shoe store early on that has a podiatrist or specialist who can help you choose the right shoe size and has a good understanding of the shapes and styles of athletic shoes in general.

Well, or as a last resort, use the information provided below:

    1. Shoe size isn't everything. You still need to try on shoes.
    2. It is better to go to a shoe store after training - it is at this moment that you can determine your maximum shoe size.
    3. When trying on, wear the same socks that you plan to wear during training.
    4. Sneakers must be your maximum size.
    5. From the tip of the longest toe to the toe of the sneaker there should be a distance equal to the width of thumb your hand.
    6. Be sure to try it on and make sure it’s true!
    7. If you have bunions (bumps on the outside of your big toe) or hammertoes, choose a pair of running shoes with a wide toe box. The length of the sneakers should allow you to fully straighten your foot and toes but in a standing position, and you should be comfortable in them from the very first try on - you shouldn’t rely on the fact that they “break in”, they don’t.
    8. Women with large size legs and full or wide feet are worth trying on and male models too - as a rule, with the same female models They are slightly wider in length.

For exacerbation of leg and foot problems

If you're starting to have problems with your feet or ankles, sometimes simple shoe adaptations can help relieve symptoms. Many of the following can be purchased without a prescription.

Heel cups can effectively relieve pain under the heel (i.e. plantar fasciitis). Made from plastic or rubber, the heel cup is specially designed to provide additional support to the heel, reducing stress on the vulnerable area.

Metatarsal pads can help relieve pain under the ball of the big toe (sesamoid bone inflammation) or under the ball of the other toes (metatarsalgia). They are made of felt or hard rubber. An adhesive base is applied to the metatarsal pads on the flat side. They are fixed to the insole under the sensitive area of the foot, and the metatarsal pads thus redistribute the usual load on the balls of the foot. This helps reduce stress on the vulnerable area.

    Custom-made insoles

Many foot problems are usually caused by sprains and intense exercise, as well as by choosing the wrong sports shoes or purchasing low-quality sports shoes. However, long-term (chronic) and complex foot problems may require special pads (orthoses) made from materials designed to relieve pain and reduce stress in certain areas of the foot and provide additional support in others.

They are used for severe flat feet, very high arches, pain in the muscles of the anterior region of the leg after excessive physical activity, Achilles tendonitis, inflammation of the joint of the big toe - and more.

To alleviate the symptoms as much as possible if the above problems arise, you should definitely consult an orthopedic surgeon - he specializes in diseases of bones and joints. An orthopedic surgeon will be able to help you with your foot and ankle problems. And podiatrists and orthopedists will be able to manufacture and modify the insoles and insoles (orthoses) you need, and thus help you fulfill the necessary instructions of the surgeon. If you turn to professionals, they will be able to help solve your problem regarding the optimal choice of shoes for the required course of treatment.

Same story beautiful shoes then it’s not always comfortable to wear. As for the insoles, I bought myself gel Sholev ones (the same ones, yes) and they are generally excellent. The feet are soft, the step is easier. I didn’t get any calluses in the new shoes, and the most important thing is that the insole “flows” around the heel, kind of protects it all around. It fits the fingers a little narrow at first, but then it’s ok. Especially if the shoes are not made of the most expensive material, but “you like them sooooo much and don’t want others,” then you definitely need such insoles. We bought them at the pharmacy near our house.

I've been running for a long time. It was painful to run on hard surfaces in regular sneakers. I was thinking about purchasing shol insoles for sports for women. I bought them at a regular pharmacy. The insoles are soft and pleasant to the touch. There were no problems with the size. Now I don't feel any pain while running. The foot in the shoes is very comfortable and soft. The insoles did their job well.

The world is experiencing an unprecedented surge in the popularity of sneakers: nowadays they are worn literally under everything and with everything. Sneakers have become legitimate even in places where no one would have thought to wear them before - for example, at a theater premiere.

Sneakers are different from sneakers! We share tips on how to choose the right high-quality sports shoes that will not wear out.

    1. Base your choice on a specific sport.

Basketball shoes are designed for playing basketball. Tennis shoes are designed for tennis. Running shoes are designed for running, while hiking shoes are designed for hiking. This is not a ploy by the clothing industry to get you to buy more shoes- Each sport really requires its own type of footwear.

Manufacturers try to make sports shoes as useful as possible so that they help the athlete and make his actions easier.
It is important that you choose your shoes based on the sport you plan to engage in.

If you play 2-3 sports, then it is better to have 2-3 pairs of shoes for each of them than one “universal” sneakers.

    Basketball shoes

    2. Change shoes depending on the time of wear

One of the worst things you can do for your body is to continue wearing an old pair of athletic shoes. Shoes are designed to provide support to your feet and ankles, but once the inner cushioning layer breaks down, your entire body suffers the consequences.

The American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine offers the following tips for deciding whether to replace your shoes:

After approximately 450 to 600 kilometers of running or walking.

After approximately 45 to 60 hours of playing basketball, aerobic dancing, tennis, or other outdoor sports.

When there is any significant wear in the middle of the sole - the shoe appears uneven when placed on a flat surface.

Even if you don't wear sneakers regularly, it's worth replacing them after a year of ownership because they can experience environmental wear and tear even if they're not actually used.

If you are very active, you may need to replace your shoes every couple of months. It may be expensive, but if it saves you medical costs later on, it's worth it.

    3. Decide on a budget

Athletic shoes range in price from $20 to over $200. The last thing any user wants to see is a large shoe bill before checking out, simply because impulse led them straight to the checkout.

The main thing is to approach it wisely, many studies show that for an average of 80-100 dollars, shoes are no different from very expensive mass-produced shoes.

    4. Consult

Despite the fact that you have always worn size 35 and it has always fit you, it is better to consult with the seller before choosing. It's not just the size of the foot, the size of the arch, the level of support required - everything is important.
Good stores spare no expense on professional consultants to help you choose the right shoes in which your legs won’t hurt or get tired quickly.

    5. Avoid shopping based on brand.

It shouldn't matter if you like Nike sneakers more than any other sports brand in the world - if it can't offer the right shoe for your feet, your fit or your sport. When shopping for athletic shoes, be sure to try on several different brands. You might be surprised to find out that the shoes that fit you best are actually from a brand you've never worn before.

    6. Go shoe shopping at the end of the day.

At the end of the day, your feet become swollen. So, when you come to the store in the evening and try on your shoes, you will understand that now your feet are as large as possible. It is better to buy shoes a little larger than a little smaller, because there is a high probability that during training such sneakers will press and will be unpleasant to exercise in.

    7. Wear the socks you are going to wear to exercise.

When you go to the store to buy sneakers, be sure to wear the socks you will be wearing. They will help you avoid unpleasant problems, for example, when the toe is low, the heel of the sneaker can rub your foot. If the socks are too tight, the ventilation of the feet will be insufficient and the feet will sweat more.

    8. Use the “rule of thumb”

If you've ever worn smaller shoes in your life, you know how unpleasant and painful it can be. Therefore, when choosing and purchasing shoes, always try to leave a little space in front. thumb. It is desirable that the amount of this space is sufficient so that you can rotate your finger around almost freely and without interference.

    9. Choose a weekend for shopping so you have time to try on a lot of shoes.

You should try to try on at least 8 different pairs of sneakers before making a purchasing decision. People with non-standard sizes It is usually difficult to find even 2-3 pairs, so it is important to visit several stores.

Especially if you waited until the old shoes were worn out. By trying on several options from different brands, you can choose what is comfortable for you.

Take photos of how this or that pair of shoes fits on your feet so you don’t forget which one you liked more and which one you liked less.

    10. Ask the store about returns and guarantees

Before you head home with your new sneakers, check the store's return policy. Some online stores give customers up to 30 days to return shoes, even if they have been worn. It will be terrible to discover when you come home that the shoes that seemed to fit in the store are not so comfortable, and it is not possible to return them to the store.

    And in conclusion

While fashion shouldn't be a factor when choosing the right athletic shoes, there's no shame in admitting that it does matter. It’s not scary if you decide to buy a certain pair of shoes in a certain color scheme, if the model is your favorite and available, and fully matches your preferences. Sometimes online stores may not have an item in stock, but they can order the one you want and ship it to your location for free.

Quite often, playing sports is accompanied by various injuries (dislocations, sprains of ligaments and muscles, diseases of veins and joints). Scientists have proven that most of these injuries are associated with improperly selected sports shoes. Often when buying shoes, many are guided only by them appearance, completely forgetting that our health directly depends on the quality and comfort of these shoes.

“How to choose the right high-quality sports shoes?” – this question interests many. Let's try to figure it out...

All sports shoes are divided into two subtypes:

    • universal sports shoes (which is suitable for everyone who is not involved in professional sports);
    • special sports shoes (which is intended for people involved in a professionally specific sport).

When choosing any sports shoes, you should pay special attention, first of all, to the quality, as well as the origin of the material from which it is made.

Good shoes should “breathe” and should not interfere with normal sweating. Sports shoes on the outside are made from genuine leather, with a combination of fabric inserts. There should be a fabric inside (preferably cotton) that absorbs moisture well.

One of the signs of high-quality sports shoes is a thickening in the middle of the insole, which serves to support the arch of the foot, which in turn prevents the development of flat feet. The insole must be removable so that it can be dried. There should be seams underneath, not a flat cardboard or fabric surface.

The quality of the sole also plays an important role when choosing sports shoes. When choosing shoes in a store, try bending the sole with your hands; it should not be stiff, otherwise it will be difficult for you to perform any exercises in it.

You should also pay attention to the type of fastener. Velcro shoes are not suitable for intense physical activities, as they can come unfastened at any time, leading to a fall or injury. Therefore, for such activities it is better to take shoes that lace up.

When choosing sports shoes, you need to take into account that the foot grows slightly during training (due to physical activity). So you should buy shoes that are not too tight.

When trying on, be sure to walk around the fitting area and feel how the shoes “sit” on your foot. When walking, you should only lightly touch your toes and the toe of your shoe, and not rest against it.

You should also buy a pair of cotton socks, which you need to wear for each workout, and then after training, wash and dry them thoroughly.

Since the shoes themselves can be washed only if this is not prohibited by the manufacturer. It will be quite enough to wipe your sports shoes with a damp cloth after exercise and wash them with soap once a week.

When purchasing shoes, ask the seller about documents confirming the quality of the shoes.

It is also worth noting that when, for example, the sole of a shoe wears out, its shock-absorbing and supporting properties are lost. What does negative impact, on your feet, knees and spine.
