      The next factor that shapes a person’s preferences and motives is the actions that he is used to performing, how he behaves with other people, and what behavior he considers acceptable towards himself.

      In company. The HR manager is engaged in personnel selection and tries to convey positive emotions to his colleagues. The company's courier drives the car and accepts money from the client. To motivate employees at this level, you can create an unofficial code of ethics, which will spell out the rules of behavior for employees in the company - mutual courtesy, permission conflict situations, joint celebration of birthdays.     • Level 3. Abilities

      A question of level.“How do I do this”?

      This level determines a person’s experience and skills, as well as his internal resource and ability to use it.

      In company. The sales manager is looking forward to a promotion because he has mastered basic sales scripts and made several profitable deals.     • Level 5. Identity

      All people are different. Even people who were brought up in the same environment, received the same education, and have a similar scale of values. What makes us different is called identity, or personal distinctiveness.

      In company. Identifying an employee's identity is not so easy, because people are rarely even aware of their personal motives. One designer goes to work because he is a “father who feeds the family,” and his partner considers himself a “digital marketing artist.” Trying to interfere with someone's identity often results in conflict.     • Level 6. Mission

    3 main principles of the Dilts pyramid

    To motivate his employees, the manager does not have to conduct large-scale training on staff motivation. Most often, it is enough to analyze the actions of an employee (or group of employees) and conduct a short coaching session for him (for them). The main thing is to remember the following principles:

      Not a single problem is solved at the level where it arose.

      Any changes at the upper level irreversibly affect the lower one, and vice versa.

    The pyramid of logical levels by Robert Dilts, based on the pattern that in cognition, change, communication and just life, certain natural levels of classification are observed, and that changing something to more high levels always inevitably affects lower levels, can be used wonderfully for self-coaching.

    Let me briefly remind you that each level of the pyramid stores information of a certain quality:

    • Environment— reaction level (What? Who? Where? When? With whom? Who?) — conditions, habitat, the world, objects, people, places, dates, deadlines, and everything that surrounds us in everyday life.
    • Behavior— action level (What is he doing?) - everything related to human activity (organization), the level is devoted to information about changes and movements.
    • Capabilities— level of sources and direction of movement ( How?) - the level of knowledge and experience that lies behind our immediate perception of the environment, the combination of various resources, algorithms and strategies behind behavior.
    • Beliefs and values- level of permission and motivation (For what? For what? Why?) is a deep level that structures the entire experience of a person as an individual. They are formed under the influence various factors: family, school, environment, environment, culture, etc.
    • Identity— mission ( Who am I? What social “role” do I play?) - what personal role (the role that you mainly play - jester, mother, businessman, friend, lover, child, macho, teacher, etc.) or self-perception is associated with the problem or result.
    • Transmission— vision, meanings, spiritual level (For whom else? For what else? What's the point?) - refers to our sense of something that extends beyond our personal vision of ourselves and includes our vision of larger systems that surround specific roles, values, beliefs, thoughts, actions or sensations.

    Understanding the meaning of each level in own life, it is enough to simply conduct self-coaching for the most powerful and rapid implementation of new goals and objectives. You can also analyze a complex or confusing situation that cannot be resolved by performing your usual actions. Simply put, when you are at a dead end, stuck in something: in a task, in a relationship, in school, etc. You can rid yourself of destructive habits (being late, smoking, violating agreements or the dress code of the organization you work for, etc.).

    How to do this on your own if there is no opportunity to interact with a coach?

    Advice:when there are a lot of problems, don’t try to solve everything at once, “sort” them according to the degree of urgency and importance. Choose the most pressing one and start acting:

    1. Firstly,of course, get ready for painstaking and conscious work, allocate enough time for self-coaching, choose a room where no one will disturb you, and nothing will distract your attention from work. Write down the day and time when this work starts. This makes it psychologically easier to complete what you have planned and not put it off until later.
    2. Secondly, write your goal (task) that you want to realize. Why is it necessary to write?
      1. What is written falls on the subconscious as a program for action. “What is written with a pen cannot be cut out with an axe.”
      2. While you are writing (formulating a thought), you become aware of some nuances that can already give you an idea for solving the issue. Secondly, during writing, certain nerve impulses associated with writing specific words are formed and sent to the brain, so it is very important what words you use to describe your goal (task). Thirdly, when writing, a certain visualization occurs desired result, which is an additional impulse to the brain. Fourthly, realizing your goal (task) and why you need it, you experience a certain emotional condition(exciting, elated, joyful, etc.), and emotion is energy in pure form, which, even more than a visual image, is perceived by the Universe as a guide to execution.
      3. During the time before the appointed hour of self-coaching, the situation, both external and your internal, may change (for example, the goal will change and you will correct it in your notes, the problem will be solved, the surrounding reality will change, etc.).
    3. Third,Prepare separate sheets of paper and write on them the names of the levels of the pyramid. You can also write questions corresponding to each level. Prepare colorful markers or pens.
    4. Fourthly, understand at what level your goal (task) or problem is. The solution, or a factor that will help actively move the problem from a dead point to improvement, is located 2 levels above the problem.

    For example, the habit of being late is at the Behavior level, which means that the solution must be sought at two levels higher - Beliefs/values.

    Difficulty communicating with certain people originate at the Environment level - look for a solution at the Ability level - develop the skills of persuasion, argumentation, listening, ability to interest, etc.

    Difficulties with learning a foreign language, driving a car, quitting smoking are related to Abilities - look for a factor in your Identity - in the role you want to play, knowing a foreign language, easily driving a car, having a reputation as a non-smoker.

    The technique for solving problems using Dilts levels consists of integrating logical levels and consists of two stages:

    1. Make an analysis of the current moment by levels from the bottom up, asking yourself questions corresponding to each level. It’s better to divide the answers according to the degree of importance for you (that’s what multi-colored ink is for). Have you reached the “Mission” level - visualize yourself in the target slide as if the task or problem has been solved, the goal has been achieved. What are you like on that slide? Describe yourself in detail visually-auditory-kinesthetically (preferably also in writing).Stay in this state longer: you are a hero, a winner, you have coped with a difficult task! Anchor this state (auditory - with a sound mark (melody, sound of some words, etc.), visual - with a figurative mark (sign, symbol, object, etc.), kinesthetic - with movement, gesture, smell, etc.). P.).Ask yourself questions at the transmission level: Who else will benefit from the realization of my goal? Why else am I achieving this goal? What is the meaning of my goal for loved ones, my enterprise, Planet Earth? And how will the realization of my goal affect them?
    2. After enjoying your victory, start moving in reverse order down the pyramid. Only now the quality of questions at each level changes taking into account the goal already achieved.

    The second part of the technique allows you to use knowledge of your own Mission for a more accurate selection of resources at each logical level: "What is added or changed at each level when the knowledge and resource of one’s own Mission is brought there? How should information now be structured at this level so that the best way answer the chosen Mission?":

    • Which personal role best suits my new state?
    • What values ​​and beliefs are characteristic of such a person with such a mission?
    • What new abilities do I have in my new capacity with a new mission?
    • How do I behave, what actions do I take, how do I interact with others in my new role?
    • What is it like, my surroundings, now? What environment helps me reach new heights in my new role?

    DILT'S PYRAMID: LET'S BREATH THE PROBLEMS ON THE SHELVES

    The logical levels model describes a living system, which can be an individual person, an entire company, or a society. The model consists of six levels. The levels of this system (pyramid) can be compared to the shelves on which our inner world is “laid out”.

    A LITTLE THEORY...

    Each “shelf” represents some part of the subjective experience. Each level of the pyramid is connected to the others and influences the neighboring ones to varying degrees, depending on the hierarchy and the distance between them. Changes at a higher level will necessarily cause changes at lower ones. At the same time, changes at lower levels have a significantly smaller impact on the upper steps or do not affect them at all.

    Let's go through the levels from bottom to top.

    Environment. The lowest level, basic. These are conditions, our habitat, our surrounding world, objects, people, places, dates, deadlines and everything, everything, that surrounds us. This is what we encounter, contact, interact with in our daily activities.

    Behavior. The second level, which includes everything related to the activities of a person (organization). This is the level of human activity. Since actions are performed on something (with someone, something, somewhere or sometime), this logical level is most closely connected with the lower level - the environment.

    At the two lower levels - environment and behavior - our life takes place. At these levels is what most of our goals ultimately come down to (getting pleasure, experiencing emotions, attention, increasing one’s own self-worth, communication, money, sex, learning something interesting). Requests and demands, as well as the overwhelming majority of official “manipulation” (orders from management to do something, command, instructions, etc.) are also located at these two logical levels.

    Capabilities. The level that determines our behavior is the source and direction of movement. It can also be said that it is the level of experience that lies behind our perception of the environment.

    Beliefs and values. This is a level that has absorbed all human experience. Beliefs and values ​​are formed under the influence large number factors: family, school, friends, surroundings, environment, culture, etc. At this level there is no room for excuses as to why I didn’t do something - there are only answers “How to achieve this?” This is the level of answers to the question “Why did the person do this?”

    We analyze the problem into its component parts, answering simple questions

    Identity. The penultimate level builds a connection with our personal role. This is the role we predominantly play - joker, mother, hero, businessman, friend, lover, child, macho, teacher, etc. At this level main question- “Who am I?”, that is, how do I imagine myself and the world around me? What beliefs, values, abilities and behaviors are dominant in each role?

    Mission. This is a level of spirituality that answers the questions “Why? For what? What's the point?". It is built on our vision of large systems outside ourselves that “surround” specific roles, values, beliefs, thoughts, actions or feelings. This is the level of spirit of an individual or organization.

    So, we have dealt with the “shelves” of the logical level system. Now let's look at how to work with them. Let’s do this using the example of problems of different “weight categories”:

    • no one loves me, no one needs me;
    • I can’t get up when my alarm clock rings; I put off getting up for 5 minutes five or six times;
    • I can’t find a common language with N.

    Let's start analyzing our first problem. First, we disassemble it into its component parts from the bottom up, answering simple questions that should show us at what level of the pyramid the parts of this problem are located.

    “NO ONE LOVES ME”: LAYOUT ON “SHELVES”

    Environment. Who should love me? How should I be treated?

    Olya, Nastya, mother, brother, Igor, colleagues in the department, boss and, of course, Kostya. The rest would be nice too. They must respect me, treat me well and kindly, and accept me as one of their own.

    Behavior.What behavior, what actions on the part of others do I want to see?

    They give me every kind of attention, they listen, they take my opinion into account, they consult with me, they set me as an example, they spend their time on me, they enjoy communicating with me, they invite me with them.

    Capabilities. What will make people like me? What skills need to be developed?

    The ability to listen, increase your erudition in economic matters, start preparing “snacks”, start a blog and collect information that is interesting to us, read 4 books in your specialty and apply what you read at work. Slowly update your wardrobe towards the classics, learn to walk in stiletto heels.

    Beliefs and values. Why do I need universal love? Why do I want to be needed by everyone?

    Those who are not loved are bad. You can't be bad. From childhood we were taught that you need to please your teacher, neighbor, uncle, aunt. Those who are not loved - asocial types, outcasts of society. Besides, I really like it when people pay attention to me. I can't live without attention.

    Identity. Who am I, a person loved by everyone and needed by everyone? What is my role that I play?

    I am the center of attention and attraction.

    Mission. Why am I doing all this?

    To please yourself.

    TWO LEVELS UP

    Einstein wrote: “No problem can be solved at the level at which it arose.” He did this without at all referring to the Dilts pyramid, but his words very accurately characterize his approach to solving his internal problems.

    The solution to the problem (or something that can significantly move it from a dead point) must be sought at higher levels of the system of logical levels. Most often the most effective solution located two levels above the “shelf” on which the problem is located.

    Let's look at the rest of our examples.

    • I can’t get up when my alarm clock rings; I put off getting up for 5 minutes five or six times. Let's say the main problem is at the behavioral level. Then, most likely, the most effective medicine should be sought at the level of beliefs and values. What value am I realizing when I don't wake up to my alarm? What values ​​will I realize when I start getting up at the first signal?
    • I can’t find a common language with N. Let’s say the main problem is identified at the environmental level. To find a solution, it is worth taking a closer look at your ability level. What abilities (experience, skills, abilities) do not allow me to find a common language with N? What skills will help you achieve this?

    Having discovered the main difficulty in the case of “Nobody Loves Me” at the level of beliefs, you need to move to the mission level in the search for solutions. Let's say you figure out that the main difficulty is changing personal beliefs about why others should like me. You realized that you want to be liked for two reasons. The first is banal pleasure. The second is a debt to the program that has been instilled in you since childhood. Being liked by others is important and necessary. Because of the latter, an evaluative opinion grows in us, which we place at the forefront of all our activities. As a result, the most important motive becomes what people will say or think about us.

    A mission-level solution could be to reconsider the value of universal love.

    ABOUT BREAKING AND DISSONANCE

    It is impossible to break established perceptions at the mission level; we remember that at high levels changes occur extremely slowly. In this case, you will need to consider alternative ways to please yourself, and control the influence of your evaluative opinion and artificially reduce its importance for some time. Look for new ways to help you like yourself, for example, in your professional life, take on a challenging project at work, and in your personal life, look for something that gives you pleasure and make it a hobby. Or maybe just set a goal to make yourself the center of your attention - start taking care of yourself like royalty, love yourself, pamper yourself, praise yourself, notice your successes.

    After some time of such work, the level of significance of the evaluative opinion will decrease (although it is unlikely that it will be possible to completely get rid of it). But development alternative ways liking yourself will help shift the focus from trying to please everyone to another area that will be under your control.

    Once you've decided on a solution that's right for you, walk it down the entire pyramid, starting with the mission, to see if it fits your levels. Perhaps the solution found is in dissonance with your identity. Then look for something else or adjust what you selected.

    2. The second level contains the behavioral aspect, all our actions performed in life and leading to the presence of what we have in the first point. He answers the question "What am I doing?"
    3. At this level the question is relevant “How do I do this?” This is where our skills, abilities, abilities, and talents live. Everything that concerns the life tools that we use in order to perform certain actions to obtain the benefits noted in the first paragraph.     5. "Who am I?"- answers to this global question must be sought at the fifth, penultimate level. It concerns our life roles, ideas, upbringing, worldview and self-perception. I am a man, woman, businessman, teacher, traveler, musician, beauty, strong man, optimist, loser... We absorb these roles and try to live up to them.
    6. The most important question, the answer to which people spend their entire lives and many do not find: "What's the point?" If we expand it completely globally, then "What is a sense of life?"
      Why do we think and act at all previous levels? Why do we exist? What is our mission?

    As you can see, each level is a deeper dive into our personality and at the same time a higher step in the spiritual plane. Our life takes place in the two lower tiers. The two middle floors control our earthly existence; they can be called the mental-material base for the implementation of all actions. The top two levels determine the content of all the others.

    As stated, the solution to a problem usually lies a little beyond its obvious location. But in order to understand all its symptoms and find the source of the “disease,” we must write down the answers to the questions of all six levels.

    Let's take irritability and anger as an example. The problem is that a person quickly loses his temper, is rude, is categorical in his judgments, and attaches too much importance to other people’s flaws. And the person wants to work on his intolerance and anger. What is needed for this, what actions are needed, where is the problem?

    1. At the level of life “property”, people suffer from a person’s anger - friends, family, colleagues.
    2. What should you do to stop being irritated and angry? IN in this case the main action is inaction. Don't break down, don't scream, don't get irritated.
    3. What quality do you need to develop in yourself to learn not to commit these actions? Calmness, forbearance, goodwill, tolerance, restraint. Well, at the third level we find the answer to the problem - a person does not have these qualities, they are not developed, so he does not know how to restrain himself.
    4. Why is he doing this? A person who is dissatisfied with his life, who has repressed problems and unfulfilled desires will be rude and angry at others. Unloved job or wife, buried talent. A discrepancy between who a person thinks he is and who he is. And the greater this dissonance, the more violent the dissatisfaction, the less peace in life and tolerance towards others.
    5. What kind of person is someone who treats others kindly and does not take it out on them? You can immediately tell - this is a holistic, realized person who knows what he wants, confidently moves towards his goals, and makes his dreams come true. Someone who simply has no time to pay attention to the mistakes of others, because he is busy with an exciting activity.
    6. What is the point of letting go of anger and being kind to others? Most likely, our Uncle Zlyuka just wants to be happy, loved, so that people would rejoice at his arrival, and not grimace and run away in all directions.

    Now we pause for a moment at the top and begin to roll back. In order to make your life and the lives of your people more pleasant and happier, you need to eradicate or reduce the dissonance between ideas about your life and reality. Find a job that suits your heart, cure a chronic illness due to which something is constantly aching, unearth and revive your talent. In short, remove global irritants. A satisfied and fulfilled “I” has no need to be angry with others; he will be able to develop patience in himself, stop shouting at loved ones, and everyone will feel better.

    I want to say right away that this is just an example - another person may find completely different reasons for irritability and anger, and in general, everyone has their own Dilts pyramid. Or is there a difficult situation and it is as confused as a skein of thread with which a kitten lost? Or is there a goal, but not everything is clear and therefore you cannot start moving? We can decompose a problem, situation, goal across all levels of the pyramid by asking questions and receiving answers, i.e. information that we can understand and comprehend at each level of the pyramid. Traveling through logical levels has an amazing effect - the results in the form of disclosed conscious information at one level organize and manage information at a lower level. As a result, you quickly discover how changes to something at higher levels automatically change information at lower levels. What does this mean in practical terms? That the solution to the problem lies not at the level at which it arose and was voiced, but at levels (usually 1-2) higher. Knowing this principle, we can purposefully seek solutions at the appropriate level.
    For example. We complain that we have problems with money, we wish we had more money, but it doesn’t work. So, the problem is stated at the Environment level, i.e. the results that we have and which do not suit us. Having examined the level of Actions, we can see what we are doing now, what specific actions to make money. And having gone through the level of Abilities, we can see how we do this, what skills and abilities, strategies and models we use. And so, having risen to the level of Beliefs, we understand that we are convinced and believe that money comes from persistent hard work, that only dishonest people have easy and big money, that if something comes easy to us and also brings pleasure, then for it They don’t take money, or if they do take it, it’s not much. Here it is - a bottleneck that does not let us in, prevents us from receiving results at the lower levels (there is no such financial income as we want and declare) and does not allow changes to occur there. This is exactly the level at which we need to make decisive efforts, make changes - transform limiting beliefs and find new, developing ones.
    Let's look at our attitude to making money from a different angle. For example, if work is easy for us and brings us pleasure, then we have already invested previously, spent our energy on finding out what we like, understanding ourselves and finding our talents, training our skills, investing in our training and development, finding successful strategies and models that make us more effective and productive in this matter. In addition, by doing something easily and with pleasure, we are still investing our energy and giving other people more value and results that they need and care about. Therefore, we can begin to believe that we are valuable, that getting a good financial income does not have to be hard labor, that any of our work, even the one that comes easily to us, is worth it and should be appreciated with dignity. And then we can believe that if we do what we like and bring pleasure, we are filled, we have energy that moves us forward, which means we have the strength to be more productive and efficient, to do more, but easier and faster and get more financial income with less effort.
    What will changes at the level of beliefs and finding new beliefs give us? Changes at levels below the level of Abilities (new strategies and models, for example, how we can use our talents, our skills and abilities to earn money easily, doing what we are good at and what we like, how we can now earn money more and in a different way, in a way we haven’t done before?). Actions (What will our actions be for this then? What will we do now? What can be changed and done differently? What specific steps can we take? And accordingly the Environment - where will we do this now? Who will be next to us? Who will help and support us? What else will support and strengthen us? And what results will we then get - in the form of growing financial flow, fullness and joy, energy to move forward and expand even more, and increase results? regularly.
    This is, of course, a simplified example, but if you understand the principle, then the rest is a matter of technique. You just need to take a problem, a situation you want to change or your goal and go through the logical levels asking appropriate questions at each of them. Moreover, you can start moving along the pyramid both from above and from below - the main thing is to go full circle and return to the level from which you started. Below I will give techniques and examples of questions by level.
    The value of the pyramid of logical levels: the value of studying the levels of the pyramid is that everything can be sorted out, clarified and realized. But the main thing is that we find “a place to hit” so that the engine starts working - i.e. the level at which the solution is located.

    Below are examples of questions by level. As an example, here are questions for researching any goal (I suggest taking the most basic 6 levels) and to do this, start climbing from the bottom tier of the pyramid. For greater effect, you can mark the name of each level and questions for it on separate sheets of paper and, while exploring your question, move along them by physically stepping on the sheets of paper or placing your hand.

    Level 1 - environment. Question - What? Who? Where? When? With whom? - conditions, habitat, the world around us, objects, people, places, dates, periods, and everything that surrounds us in everyday life.
    Answer: When you plan to achieve a goal, what do you get? What are the results? Where will it be? Who will be next to you (relatives, friends, employees, partners, clients, etc.). What will surround you?
    Level 2 - action. The question is - what to do? Everything related to activity and behavior.
    What actions will you take to achieve your goal? What steps will you take? What will you do in the environment you talked about earlier?
    Level 3 - abilities. The question is - how? level of sources and direction of movement - level of knowledge and experience, skills and abilities, combination of various resources, algorithms and strategies.

    What skills and abilities do you need to have to achieve your goal? Which ones do you already have and which ones require development? How will you do this? What models and strategies to use?

    Why will you achieve this goal? Why do you need it? What do you believe in and what are you convinced of when you set such a goal?

    What important and valuable things will you gain by achieving this goal? How will your life change when you achieve your goal? What more will appear in it?

    Who will you be when you reach your goal? Who will you become when the valuable things it contains appear in your life? What will you tell yourself when you achieve your goal?
    Having answered all these questions, we integrate the answers received and, with new understanding and awareness, we descend down the same levels. Now the quality of questions at each level changes taking into account the information already received and previously understood.
    Level 6 - identification. The question is - who am I?
    And when you are such a person, what else important and valuable appears in your life? How is your life changing?
    Level 5 - values. The question is - why is this important?
    What more appears in your life? What becomes important? What loses its meaning? What new meanings fill your life?

    Level 4 - beliefs. Question: why? For what? What are my beliefs?
    And then what do you believe? Why do you want to achieve this goal?
    Level 3 - abilities. The question is - how?
    What skills and abilities do you now display? What strategies and models do you use?
    Level 2 - action. The question is - what to do?
    What actions are you taking now? What are you doing? What steps are you taking now?
    Level 1 - environment. Question - What? Where? When? With whom?
    And when do you do this now? With whom? Who and what surrounds you now? Who and what supports you? And what results do you get then?
