And all this thanks to the unique chemical composition. Firstly, it is 75% water. Secondly, the high content of B vitamins has a beneficial effect on the functioning of skin cells. Thirdly, thanks to starch, the skin becomes smooth, silky and radiant. Other active substances moisturize, heal, protect against adverse environmental influences (polluted air, poor-quality water) and strengthen the immune mechanism of epidermal cells.

    What does our skin need? IN proper care. If the flower is not watered and fed regularly, it will wither. This happens with the skin of our face. Basic care consists of:

    • in purification;
    • in toning;
    • in nutrition;
    • in hydration.

    Raw potato masks

    A mask with dry milk and egg will help tone tired skin and restore a healthy, radiant appearance. Take 1 potato, grated on a fine grater, add 1 tsp. powdered milk, half a beaten egg and a grain of salt.

    1. For 1 tbsp. grated potatoes, take the same amount of grated raw carrots and 1 tbsp. flour. You will get a thick paste, to which you need to add boiled water (just a little). You can significantly improve the condition of your skin by making a mask for a month, 2 times a week.
    2. Make the mixture as in the recipe described earlier and add ½ tsp. lemon juice. Apply the mask to the face, décolleté and neck.

    A potato face mask effectively fights wrinkles: mix finely mashed potatoes and cucumber (pre-peeled) and apply to the face. Keep for 20 minutes. Then rinse off with slightly acidified lemon juice water. Dry your face, lubricate with olive oil and massage lightly.

    Potatoes are indispensable for relieving puffiness. And not only the face, but also swelling under the eyes. Distribute the grated potatoes on a gauze napkin and apply to your face. After 15 minutes, remove and rinse your face with cold water. Such simple mask not only removes puffiness, but also fights wrinkles.

    If you have dark circles under your eyes, don't worry. Place gauze bags with wrapped grated potato gruel on the area around the eyes for 15 minutes.

    Jacket potato masks

    All of the masks listed below use potatoes that are boiled with their skins on.

    If your skin is oily, you need to mix potatoes and sour milk (yogurt, kefir, fermented baked milk) in equal proportions. Another recipe: mash 2 potatoes, mix with 2 tbsp. oatmeal and while still warm, apply to face. Cover the top with a towel.

    For dry skin, face masks made from potatoes with fatty ingredients are used. For example, these:

    1. With sour cream and egg yolk. 1 tbsp. mashed potatoes mixed with 1 tbsp. sour cream and 1 yolk. The top of this mask is covered with thick fabric. After 15-20 minutes, wash off.
    2. With milk, flour and butter. For 1 tbsp. crushed raw potatoes you need to take 1 tbsp. oatmeal and olive oil, 1 yolk and add a little warmed milk. The mixture will resemble thick sour cream. Apply for 15 minutes and cover with a towel. The mask is washed off with warm water. For very dry skin, replace milk with sour cream.

    For those with aging skin, masks made from potatoes and beans are very useful. Boil, mash, mix in equal proportions and make a mask. The skin will look rejuvenated and radiant.

    The recipe for the famous Swedish mask, which can make the skin elastic, soft and noticeably rejuvenated: make a puree from boiled and peeled potatoes, warm milk and yolk. Apply the warm mixture to the face, neck and décolleté, cover with a towel.

    A jacket potato can also be used to save a sunburned face. When mashed, it is mixed with sour cream or cream and applied warm to problem areas for 15 minutes.

    Masks made from mashed potatoes

    These masks are a godsend for the housewife. And you don't need to do anything. When preparing lunch for your loved ones, it is enough to set aside 2-3 spoons mashed potatoes for the mask. The simplest thing is to apply the puree to your face for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. It is better to do this for oily skin. And for dry and normal skin, add cucumber or carrot juice to the puree in equal proportions.

    The morning mask tones and helps the skin wake up. Add the juice of a small lemon to the puree of 2 potatoes. Keep the mask covered with gauze for half an hour. Then wash your face with cool water and wipe your face with ice cubes. It is better if the ice is based on herbal infusions.

    Those with dry skin know what seasonal manifestations threaten them with. The skin turns red and peels. In this case, vegetable oil (preferably olive), cream or sour cream are added to the puree. Such masks moisturize, nourish, give elasticity and a beautiful appearance. The procedures last 15-20 minutes, and the result is prettier, healthier skin.

    Here are some recipes:

    1. Potato and sour cream. Mix the puree with sour cream until you get a soft paste.
    2. Potato and milk. Add milk (2 tbsp) and glycerin (1 tsp) to the puree of two small potatoes. After the procedure, lubricate your face with moisturizer.
    3. With olive oil and chestnuts. Boil potatoes and 2 chestnuts in different containers. We twist the latter in a meat grinder, just crush the potatoes. Add a little olive oil to the mixed puree. Please note that you can keep this mask for only 10 minutes.

    If the house is out of potatoes, use starch. Starch masks are no less effective and nutritious. For 1 tbsp. grated carrots, take 1 raw yolk and 2 tbsp. starch. Apply the resulting mixture to the face.
