In order to knit a gift case for a cognac bottle you will need 30 g of red and a little white YarnArt yarn (150 m/50 g, 100% acrylic), knitting needles No. 3 and 4, satin ribbon 35 cm long.
The product is knitted from top to bottom using 1x1 rib and stockinette stitch. Cast on 51 sts with red yarn on size 3 needles and begin making a tight rib stitch.
Knit a cuff 9-10 cm long.
After this, switch to needles No. 4 and stockinette stitch. Make 4 rows, and then introduce white yarn into the work. Distribute the loops as follows: 1 stitch, 3 stitches with red yarn, *1 stitch with white yarn, 5 stitches with red**, repeat from * to ** 7 times, 1 stitch with white yarn, 4 stitches with red yarn, 1 stitch . To make the gift look even more attractive, it would be nice to choose a bottle of wine original packaging. A special high one is selected to be presented as a gift. gift bag, but the bottle itself can become elegant. To do this, we will knit a gift cover for a vessel with wine, which we will also decorate with a flower.
In this matter, originality is always important, so we choose textured yarn, the thread of which is of uneven thickness, has thicker sections, and is composed of cotton with viscose. The color is also original, black with bright pink weaves. We select a hook for this uneven thread with the condition that the knitting should be mesh, not dense. To pair this thread we select bright acrylic yarn Pink colour, from which we will knit a rose for decoration. A small skein of yarn is useful for knitting a ribbon or tie cord.
We make a packaging case for a bottle with a round bottom. At the beginning of knitting, we cast on 4 air loops and close them into a ring. We tie 8 columns without a cape into this ring and move on to the second row. Starting with it, we do everything with double crochets. Add stitches in the next 3-4 rows until the circle reaches the size of the bottom of the bottle.

Not everyone has such a machine, so using a hook it’s not difficult to knit a ribbon of two rows: 1 row out of 70 air loops, second row of double crochets.
We put the knitted cover on the bottle, tie it with a ribbon in the neck area, and fold the edges.
We knit a rose from acrylic yarn, choosing the twisted ribbon method. We knit a strip of yarn according to the pattern: cast on 60 vp, then repeat in the fourth loop of the bottom row *in one loop: 1 tbsp. double crochet, 2 ch, 1 tbsp. with a double crochet, in the next loop of the bottom row: 1 tbsp. without a crochet*. Count the number of loops in a test piece and measure their length. It is better to count in the middle to avoid miscalculations due to uneven edges. Calculate the usual proportion:

- For this example, round up to 30 stitches for easier counting and to help the braid fit tighter. Write this number down.

Tie the round bottom of the braid (see. hints for specifying details). You should end up with a flat disk with approximately the same parameters as the bottle, or a little less, and with the same number of loops in the last row as the “total number of loops” number indicated above.

Measure the circumference (distance around) of your bottle. The key to braiding is the correct number of loops for the volume.
There are a lot of ideas for creating knitted bottle covers. For the most part, it all depends on the knitting method you choose (knitting or crocheting), the type of yarn and, of course, the idea that you want to embody in this bottle knitted garment.

The easiest way to make a knitted cover for a bottle with knitting needles is to knit a rectangular fabric in any pattern you like, while the length of the fabric in length should correspond to the height of the bottle before tapering, and the length of the fabric in height should be equal to the circumference of the bottle. In this case, you won’t have to knit the bottom.
If you are new to knitting, then you can choose garter stitch. The best yarn to use is woolen threads medium thickness. You can take plain yarn, or you can use melange or section-dyed yarn - then your knitted bottle cover will be brighter.
When the knitted bottle cover is ready, wrap it around the bottle and sew the edges with a mattress stitch. You can also use buttons to join the edges of the case and secure the case to the bottle. In this case, you can use holes in the pattern as holes for buttons (if the buttons are small), or make hanging loops.
You can also knit a cover using stockinette stitch, but in this case you will have to take into account that the edges of the knitted fabric will curl. This property of knitted stockinette fabric can be used as decorative element when creating a knitted cover. In this case, it is necessary to knit not in the transverse direction, that is, the length of the fabric along the line of casting on loops should correspond to the circumference of the bottle, and the length of the fabric in height should correspond to the length of the bottle before the narrowing begins. 
More experienced knitters can use arans as a pattern - all kinds of braids and plaits. You need to knit such a cover using circular or stocking needles - in this case the cover will be seamless. Knitting with arans involves knitting the cover not before the bottle begins to narrow, but up to the neck. You need to finish knitting the cover with an elastic band. It is not necessary to decrease the loops in order to knit the case strictly according to the shape of the bottle; instead, you can use a satin ribbon, which should be tied around the neck of the bottle and thereby secure the upper part of the case. It is not necessary for a cover knitted with aran to have a bottom, but you can do it if you wish.
You can also use knitting needles to make knitted toys for a bottle/ For example, make a scarf and knitted hat on a bottle or on a Christmas tree as a toy for this reason.
If you don’t have the time or desire to tie the entire bottle, then you can decorate the bottle easier -.

Use PVA as glue as it does not leave marks. When the paper is glued, thickly lubricate the glued paper with PVA so that the paper is literally saturated with glue and, without waiting for the glue to dry, begin wrapping the bottle with yarn. You can use plain yarn, as well as section-dyed yarn - in this case, beautiful smooth transitions from one color to another will be created.
Or you can use yarn of several colors - in this case you will get a striped bottle. Instead of yarn, twine (hemp rope) can be used as a material for wrapping a bottle using the same technology.

To beautifully tie a bottle, you can use leftover yarn left over from knitting clothes, or unnecessary things, for example, you can unravel a tired sweater or cardigan for a new cover.

Carefully study the instructions on how to knit a bottle case with your own hands, and then get to work, following the photo in the knitting process.
Measure the bottle with a centimeter to correctly calculate the number of loops. Depending on the thickness of the thread, it will be different (here it turned out to be about 3 loops per 1 cm). The presented design of the canvas makes it possible not to change their number, but at the same time the cover will fit according to the “shape” of the bottle.
Cast on 48 loops plus 2 edge loops with pink thread (the circumference of the widest part of the bottle is 17 cm) using any method known to you.
Knit 22 rows with a double elastic band (front row: 2 knit and 2 purl, purl - according to the drawing, but essentially the same 2 knit and 2 purl in a different order).
Now start creating a diagonal braid, for which you switch to a beige thread, which you tie tightly to the leading pink one.
Turning the cover back and forth, knit 8 rows to form an even column, with the front row being the last.
Knit 3 more knit stitches.
Unfold the fabric again and make 6 purl loops so that there are 3 left on the second needle (they are no longer involved in the diagonal braid pattern).
Knit a stitch similar to the first one in 8 rows, and on the last knit stitch, pick up the next 3 loops.
Thus, constantly turning the future bottle cover and repeating the stitches, knit a diagonal braid.
Return to the pink thread, tying it to the leading beige thread (do not cut the ends too close to the knot, as acrylic is quite slippery and there is a good chance that the threads will come undone under the tension).
Knit 28 rows, then repeat the diagonal braid without changing the color of the thread (if you wish, you can switch to beige again). At the last stage, make 5 rows in garter stitch and bind off the fabric (knit 2 loops together, return the resulting loop back, knit 2 together again and repeat until the end of the row).
Sew the knitted cover with neat stitches, turning it inside out.
Now braid a braid using threads of two colors, fixing both ends with knots, and weave the cover through the holes that formed in diagonal braid. This will decorate the product and make it more interesting.
