This souvenir is designed for younger children school age 7 – 9 years old. But from personal experience I can say that children aged 10–12 years old do this work with great pleasure. If children have a good command of drawing and cutting tools, and can read diagrams easily and quickly, in two academic hours the children can cope with this work quite well. On personal experience I was also convinced that this work is easy for children to master preschool age 5 – 6 years with good technical training, i.e. fluent in a variety of instruments. But for this age category, it is better to divide this model into four academic hours. Also your methodical piggy bank teachers can replenish primary classes, teachers additional education and parents of older preschoolers and primary school students.

The manufacturing technology of a night lamp consists of four main stages:

Stage 1: Making a flower using modular origami technique.
Step 1: Select paper by color and texture.

Using the same principle, we build two more of the same green rectangles and three pink ones. Then we cut out all the constructed rectangles. As a result, we get three green and three pink rectangles measuring 110 x 80 (photo No. 3).

Step 3: Manufacturing modules according to the diagram.
All rectangles - modules are added according to the same scheme:
We put each rectangle long side horizontally and fold along the floors
We bend each corner one by one towards the midline (photo No. 4)

Now we also bend the sides towards the middle (photo No. 5). We get three green and three pink hexagons.

Step 4: Assembling the flower.
To connect the modules you will need a strong thread 15–20 cm long.
We put the green modules in one line with the fold up (photo No. 9) and cover them with pink modules (photo No. 10), then tie them in the middle with a thread (photo No. 11). We cut off the excess ends from the remaining thread.

Stage 2: Assembling a simple electrical circuit.

Step 1: LED selection.
An LED is a semiconductor device that converts electrical current directly into light radiation. This lamp is designed for a 4.5 V power source, so we opt for a 3 V LED of any color.

Step 2: Attaching the resistor to the LED.
Each LED has two contacts (short and long), find the short one and slightly bend it into a hook. We take a resistor with a resistance of 270 Ohms.
It also has two contacts. We bend one of them and connect it to the LED (photo No. 12), after which we secure the connection with a small piece of insulating tape. (photo no. 13)

Step 3: Preparation of wires.
We will need three wires with a diameter of 0.2 mm, lengths 130 mm, 110 mm, 50 mm.
Before starting work, we clean the ends of the wires using an insulation stripper, carefully remove the insulating sheath and the silk thread with which the wire is wrapped. then carefully twist the ends of all wires.

Step 4: Attaching wires to the LED and switch.
We connect a long wire (130 mm) to the “+” contact on the LED (without a resistor) using twisting, then secure it with insulating tape, and connect the wire (110 mm long) to the free contact of the resistor, also securing it with insulating tape. (photo No. 14),
At the end of each outlet we twist a loop (photo No. 15).
We check the finished electrical circuit using a power source (battery). (photo no. 16)
We attach the switch between the wire with the resistor and a short wire (50 mm).

Stage 3: Making a cardboard box.

Place the glass under the opening of the box and carefully make slits with a utility knife. Rectangular for the switch, round for the LED.

Stage 4: Assembling the night lamp.
Step 1: Attaching the switch to the side hole of the box.
We take the electrical circuit by the plastic lens of the LED (cone) and carefully pass it through the side (rectangular) and central (round) holes (photo No. 20). We fit the switch tightly into the hole and insert the LED into the round hole (photo No. 21)

Step 2: Installing the LED on the flower.
We thread the flower blank between the LED wires, tightly put the LED on its middle and pull the remaining wires inside the box.
We secure the wires to the inside of the box using electrical tape.

Step 3: Connecting wires to the power source.
We put both loops of wires on the battery contacts: the short one on “-” (short contact), and the long wire on “+” (long contact). If the circuit is assembled correctly, your LED will begin to glow.

Step 4: Glue the box using PVA glue.

Step 5: Flower formation.
We bend the end of the pink module towards the middle (you can count from any petal), then using the same principle we lift petals No. 3 and No. 5. Press them tightly to the center. You need to lift the petals carefully so as not to tear the module (photo No. 23). We also lift the remaining petals. (photo no. 24).
Having received the flower, we form green leaves by lightly pressing on the center of the green module, slightly spreading the sides of each green module. (photo no. 25)

Step 3

Now, while our glue is finally drying, let's decorate our wire. To do this, take yarn of any color you like and carefully begin to rewind the wire with it. Try not to leave any uneven spots when wrapping the yarn over the previous layer.

You can add a drop of glue to the end of the yarn to strengthen it.

Step 4

Let's make a holder for an LED lamp. To do this, we tie a fishing line on three sides (it is advisable to measure the distance evenly) to our glued strips, and the other ends to a paper clip, which we first straighten to the shape of a triangle.

2. Iron the sheets until they become completely even and smooth.
3. Fold each sheet like an accordion, measuring equal distances of strips, and use a paper cutter to cut equal, even circles.
4. Try to use the cutter more carefully and don't leave a lot of extra paper– you will need a lot of circles.

Step 3

1. Connect all the circles together by stitching in the middle. Make connected circles of equal length and begin to strengthen them around the circle of the lampshade.
2. Once you complete the first circle, go around the subsequent ones, decreasing the length each time.
3. Carefully secure your lamp in the desired location, straightening all the threads.

Remember to use only LED lamps to avoid fire.

Fold the resulting bag in half, and then fold the halves like an accordion so that you get 16 identical folded strips. Then fold the two outer strips diagonally.

To make an unusual lamp you will need:

• Corrugated paper 88×44cm;
• Ruler;
• Spoke;
• Glue;
• A thread;
• Cable;

Step 1

• Using a ruler, mark a sheet of paper at equal intervals and fold like an accordion according to the markings.

3. Draw butterflies of different sizes on cardboard and cut them out.
4. We fold the cardboard, glue the joint with a strip of thick paper or staple it with a stapler.
5. We fix the upper part on the wire. For this you can use both glue and thin wire.
6. The places of joints and cuts can be decorated with butterflies remaining after cutting.

If you ask our grandmothers, they will certainly remember floor lamps with lampshades in the form of an inverted bucket, tied with colored threads. We can do exactly the same thing with our own hands.

We will need:

• frame for lampshade – 2 pcs.
• decorative braid (3 colors, choose a combination to your liking)
• scissors
• crochet hook

Let's start production.

• We tie the first braid to the lower ring of the lampshade, leaving a tail of at least 5 cm.

• We pull it onto the top ring from the outside, throw it over it and pull it through the inside of the bottom ring. We alternate actions until the next sector of the frame begins.

• We fasten the first braid and take a braid of a different color to work. We knit it to the next sector, not forgetting to leave a tail on the first knot.

• We do the same with the third sector, filling it with the remaining braid.

• We stretch the tails along the bottom of the lampshade using a crochet hook.

Now our lampshade from the distant 60s is ready, all that remains is to insert the socket and assemble the chandelier in any order.

Fringed braid

Another one original idea for a lampshade with your own hands, it is also connected with braid, but not single-layer, but with fringe. What do we need for this?

Prepare:

1. two metal hoops or an embroidery hoop
2. fringed braid
3. fishing line
4. acrylic paint, the same color as the braid
5. glue gun
6. scissors

Advice! Fringed braid can be purchased in stores that sell decor for curtains and furniture.

1. We paint hoops or hoops acrylic paint. If they are already covered with varnish or other paint, it is better to sand and clean them.
2. We wait until the paint is completely dry and make three marks on each ring of the lampshade, placing them at an equal distance from each other.
3. I cut three identical pieces of fishing line.
4. We tie them to the smaller ring of the lampshade, leaving the upper ends with a margin so that we can then tie them to the lamp cord.
5. We measure the length of the fringe, subtract 2 cm from it, and tie the fishing line to the second ring using the resulting length. This way we can get a cascade.
6. Heat the glue gun and carefully glue the braid along the bottom ring.
7. We do the same with the upper ring, pulling it out from the lower one.

Advice! Please note that the hot glue may melt the line, so be careful not to apply it directly to the line. Drop glue onto the paper, let it cool a little, and then apply it to the fishing line.
