    Today we will learn how to make various cardboard boxes. Box - This is very necessary and universal item. It can serve as a gift, a place to store small items, or interior decor. But the best part is that you can make them yourself. You can choose the color, size, shape at your discretion, whatever your heart desires.

    Let's start with the simplest option - box using origami technique.

    We will need colored thin cardboard for creativity, glue, scissors and an instruction diagram for assembly. You need to make a square from a rectangular sheet of cardboard. Draw diagonals and mark the point of their intersection. Fold each corner of the square to a point and mark a fold line. Next, according to the diagram, outline all the other fold lines. We get a sheet with marked squares. We carefully make cuts in the corners of the square according to the diagram, fold and glue the sides of the box. To make the lid we repeat the same thing.

    For contrast, you can take cardboard of a different color. Next comes the design. Can be covered with bows, beads, decorative letters, etc. This box is good for small things, for packing a small gift.

    We offer another diagram for assembling the box.

    In order not to spend a lot of time creating a drawing, you can use ready-made templates for printing. It is very convenient and there is a wide choice. For example, a box - “Rose Bud” must be cut out and folded along the dotted lines. Decorate the sides of the blank beautifully, put a gift inside and gather the petals up.

    Print the template, cut it out, then fold along the dotted lines and glue the box together. This option is very interesting for children, it is not difficult and the child can cope quickly and without much difficulty. A lot of positive emotions are guaranteed.

    DIY Cardboard Storage Boxes

    To make a square box, you need to make a pattern drawing. Draw a square of the required size and draw straight lines from each side - this will be the height of the box. On each side we measure 2 cm protrusions and cut them at an angle of 45 degrees. In the center, we outline the square with a non-writing rod and bend it along the line and then glue it together. We make the lid 5 mm larger than the box itself. Draw a square (add 5 mm to those dimensions) and add 2 cm on each side. Cut out and glue the lid. We decorate the box with sheet music, lace and bows.

    To make it you will need 10-15 minutes and a sheet of colored cardboard.

    1. Let's start with the size of the box, let's say that you are making a box 12 cm long. Draw a triangle, size 24, that is, 2 times the size of the finished box.

    2. Divide the sides of the triangle in half, mark the middle on each side and connect them with straight lines. We have created fold lines for the box. In the diagram they are indicated by a dotted line.

    3. To assemble the parts, measure 2 cm per allowance.

    4. Cut out the box pattern and fold all sides along the dotted lines.

    5. Apply glue to the allowances and glue the sides.

    Use your imagination, decorate according to your color and taste.

    To make this box, we need to select a material, namely cardboard. Ordinary cardboard for children, designer and poster cardboard, or smooth Whatman paper will do.

    We took poster cardboard. We draw a circle on it suitable size and cut it out. We draw a quadrangle, retreating 4-5 cm along the long side edge of the workpiece. On the allowance we mark 1 cm markings. We cut it out and carefully make notches along the allowance, cutting off the corners. We bend the seam allowance and glue it to the mug. Draw another circle, this time a couple of centimeters smaller than the first, and cut it out. We decorate one side with fabric. The second stage is making the lid. Let's cut out a 7 cm quadrangle, which will be equal to the size of the base (+1.5 cm). Put the side parts together and, retreating 5 cm, glue the strip inside. This is where the lid will be put on. Cut 1.8 cm circles from the fabric, slightly larger than the circles of the lid and bottom. We glue them onto the bases. Then we cut out rectangles from the fabric and glue them on the outer and inner sides. The round box is ready, let's start decorating. Tie the box with a beautiful bow and glue an original flower to the lid.

    For work we will need one sheet of A4 format, a stationery knife, a ruler and any finishing material. The box will be the base, which can then be decorated. You can draw the template yourself, using this type, or print it on a printer if you have one.

    Cardboard boxes may be different, we have provided you with the most simple options. Choose and experiment. Beautifully made and decorated boxes can serve as a good addition to a gift, decorate your interior, and most importantly, they will create comfort and order. We wish you creative success and good mood!

    In almost every home there are a thousand little things for which you need to find a place to store them so that such a container logically fits into the interior of the room. The easiest option is to make decorative boxes with your own hands from scrap materials; they can be decorated in suitable color or use fabric with a pattern.

    Decorating the finished box (MK)

    Using a ready-made packaging box (usually a shoe box) will be an ideal option for storing necessary small items. You can also use cardboard boxes for paper, household appliances, dishes or other suitable sizes.

    Materials suitable for decorating such a box: colored paper(plain or for decoupage), colored cardboard, ribbons, sparkles and beads, seashells, coins, etc. In such a situation, it is best to use any imagination, but with the condition that the box fits harmoniously into the interior of the room. Most often, the box is sheathed or covered with fabric; you can use a piece of foam rubber for softness.

    If the box is intended for small items, then inside you can use sheets of cardboard to divide the space into several compartments of different sizes.

    When choosing a box, you need to consider its purpose:

    • determine the desired desired size;
    • the box can be taken from under paper, a teapot or an iron;
    • buy a piece of fabric of a suitable size and color, glue and sewing supplies.

    Any cardboard box will do

    The fabric is most often glued or sewn on both the outside and inside of the box for softness. Here step-by-step instruction how to do it:

    1. You need to take measurements of the box from all sides and cut the fabric according to these dimensions.

    2. Sew the prepared pieces of fabric. The material can be taken in one color or for different sides- contrasting tones (choice of your choice).

    3. All sides of the box are coated with glue, and the fabric is glued to the box.

    4. After drying, the internal and external seams are sewn manually with a needle.

    5. If necessary, you can make handles for the box from colored braid.

    6. Decorating the box is a flight of fancy.

    Boxes made of various materials

    To make boxes for books, linen, shoes or various small things needed in every home, you can use various materials. This may not necessarily be cardboard; other products that are suitable in hardness, density and texture are quite suitable.

    From cardboard

    Do-it-yourself decorative boxes made of cardboard or thick paper can be of any shape - from a classic parallelepiped, cube to original form(heart, star, oval, etc.). The principle of manufacturing the product is very simple. First you need to draw the details of the future box, taking into account the allowances for gluing. Then cut and connect with glue. Such a box can be closed using a magnet, Velcro, or a regular removable lid of the same shape. The decor of such a box depends entirely on the taste of the owner.

    Made of wood or birch bark

    Do-it-yourself boxes made from birch bark are very popular now. They are woven from birch bark strips or woven into a box shape. The parts in such birch bark baskets can be fastened with fishing line. To make wooden boxes, you will most likely need man's hands, which will help you cut sheets from plywood or a small board. It is also better to involve a man to fasten and cut out patterns on the lid.

    From newspapers

    Another interesting option(but labor-intensive) - weaving baskets from newspaper tubes. The manufacturing technology is as follows:

    1. The tubes are prepared separately in large quantities. They are wound on an iron knitting needle, the tip is secured with glue.

    3. The strongest tubes are glued to the base (box), retreating a few cm between adjacent ones.

    4. Then the actual process of braiding the base begins (based on the principle of wicker weaving).

    5. After finishing, the edges of the tubes are either secured inward with tweezers or cut off. The resulting wicker box is painted and decorated with pieces of fabric, ribbons, shells, etc.

    From plastic bottles

    Bottle boxes are made using the middle part, which is cut out and made into rectangular parts:

    • In total, you need to prepare 6 parts for the box.
    • Using a hole punch, holes are cut around the entire perimeter in each such workpiece.
    • Then the parts are crocheted and connected with threads.
    • Small sides are also made for the lid so that it tightly closes the box.
    • Further decoration of the box-box is a flight of imagination of the hostess.

    Boxes for linen (MK)

    Such decorative boxes for storing books, shoes, linen and various small items can be made in large quantities; there are many various options. One of the practical options for the dressing room is a whole set of boxes with inscriptions or photos of shoes, so as not to search for the right pair every time. Standard packaging boxes for shoes are used here, preferably the same size.

    Very necessary thing V women's wardrobe- a laundry organizer box with different compartments for each item of clothing. Such an organizer can again be made from cardboard:

    1. It is necessary to measure exactly all the dimensions inside the box: the frame of the box with the cells must exactly match the dimensions so as not to move in the future.

    2. Strips of cardboard are cut out, covered with paper or fabric on both sides, the frame must be carefully fastened, pasting all the corners inside and out.

    3. Strips for partitions are cut for the cells; the easiest way is to make cells of the same size.

    4. Similarly, we glue the strips of cells on both sides, leaving 1 cm on each edge (ear) for later gluing to the frame.

    5. To fasten them together, slots are made in the strips at the required distance: in longitudinal parts from below, and in transverse parts from above; the strips are inserted into each other through the slots - a lattice is obtained.

    6. The grille is inserted inside the frame and secured with “ears” into the frame (glued or stapled).

    Making a laundry storage box

    Boxes with cells made in this way can be decorated by covering them with colored paper and any decorative details (lace, ribbons, etc.).

    Using the same principle, a container for sewing supplies is made using a ready-made shoe box. Only it is better to make the cells of different sizes (for scissors, pin cushions, coils). It is better to make the lid of such a box hinged and fasten it with a button.

    The easiest way is to buy a ready-made box in a store. But the thing made with my own hands, always unique and inimitable. Therefore, any housewife would prefer, using her labor and imagination, to create the necessary boxes for storing all sorts of small items in her household on her own, saving money.

    How to make a box with your own hands for a small gift? For example, for brooches or candles. The topic is relevant, don’t you agree? For example, I know that soap packaging self made - an eternal problem for soap makers. And you can’t always find it in stores, and sometimes the cost is steep. So I suggest you make a cardboard box with your own hands and I present step-by-step master class. I make eco-boxes from available materials. This option is especially suitable for those, who “produces” not too large batches of their own soap. DIY handmade soap packaging Everyone can do it, but it is still time consuming.

    I used boxes that are used to pack household appliances. They are large, the sides allow you to use patterns different sizes. The material from which they are made - corrugated cardboard. Usually light Brown, the shade is very eco-friendly.

    You can also buy this or other suitable cardboard at craft stores.

    You will also need:

    • scissors and a sharp knife for cutting cardboard;
    • regular paper for patterns;
    • thin transparent tape,
    • tissue paper (silhouette) for gift wrapping;
    • stapler for fastening;
    • beautiful ribbon (braid, lace, etc.) for decoration,
    • cellophane, which is used for packaging flowers.

    The whole process looks like this step by step:

    • make a rectangular box with sides;
    • fill this box with paper filler;
    • place a souvenir (soap or candle, or other item) on a fluffy feather bed
    • we wrap all this beauty in transparent cellophane, of which there is a lot in floristry stores and similar ones (art supplies, packaging materials, etc.).

    How to make a DIY gift box

    Let's figure out how to make a corrugated cardboard box with your own hands. You can work similarly with thinner cardboard, the principle of creating a pattern is exactly the same.

    Constructing a box pattern with sides

    1. Cardboard packing box cut along one of the side edges; if it is glued, unfold it. The folds are not a problem - they can be used as folds in your boxes.

    2. Draw a pattern, the simplest one to begin with. The basis is a rectangle with a width and height corresponding to your gift (soap, candles, souvenir). More or less standard size, suitable for many forms of soap making, is a rectangle with sides of 10 and 8 cm. But you can use other sizes. For a thin candle it will be a more elongated rectangle, long, but the essence of making remains the same.

    Below in the picture is a universal pattern. You can make it in advance on plain paper and then use it on cardboard.

    The bottom of the box is indicated in blue, the sides in light orange, and the “wings” for connection in orange. The green solid lines indicate where to cut, and the dotted lines indicate where to fold.

    Make the length and width of the bottom in accordance with what will fit in the box. Add extra space on the sides so that you can add beautiful additions in the form of sisal, slices, etc.

    To the rectangular bottom, add side stripes of about 3-5 cm along the perimeter. In the picture they are light orange. The height of the sides depends on the height of the product that will be packaged. For soap, the height of the sides is usually 3.5 cm.

    The “wings” bend inside the box, and the double side ones cover them.

    1. Transfer the pattern to cardboard and cut it out. You can make several punctures at the folding points to make bending easier if the cardboard becomes stubborn.

    Handmade box assembly

    Bend the sides inward along the fold lines, while simultaneously picking up the “ears” inside, which will serve as a fastener.

    Assembling a box without glue or stapler

    In order for the entire structure to hold together and not fall apart (the cardboard strives to return to its original position), insert the bottom, cut out separately. It is this that will press the sides and “ears” and the box will keep its shape without additional fastenings.

    Fastening the “sides” with a stapler

    If you don’t want to do it with the bottom or your box is falling apart (the bottom, apparently, needs to be done a little bigger size), you can try to connect them with a stapler.

    If you choose this option, then the additional double sides can be made single and you won’t need a second bottom.

    Helpful advice: since the cardboard with corrugated insides is thick and not every stapler can “swallow” it, you just need to squeeze this notorious thickness with your fingers. And then the completely flat edge easily fits into the stapler.

    This is the final box we get. If the edges of the “ears” protrude slightly above the sides, cut them off with scissors or a sharp knife - whichever is more convenient.

    Fastening the “sides” with tape or glue

    The most difficult event, to be honest with you.

    The fact is that cardboard is not glued together with tape. And this cannot be done quickly with ordinary glue. Having fought with different glues, I realized that this stage can become very time-consuming (until the selected glue dries)... I gave up and began working with a stapler, as described above. Yes, there are metal brackets, but they are practically invisible.

    But for those who do not have this tool at hand, thin tape will help out. They need to wrap the entire box around the perimeter, thus tightening side walls. And then decorate with paper in silence, for example. That is, cover it with tape.

    Cardboard box lid

    As you probably guessed, the lid is made exactly the same as the box itself. Only the height of the sides is limited to 2-3 cm and the bottom should be larger than that of the main box - about a few mm on all sides. This will allow you to close without straining.

    If desired, you can cut a window in the lid and seal it from the inside with transparent film.

    Proceed to design the box.

    DIY box wrapper

    A box carefully made from cardboard is already good in itself! Beautiful packaging for handmade soap has an eco-friendly appearance and is suitable for many handmade products. However, you can make a more festive outfit for her.

    Wrap the box beautiful paper: quiet or corrugated. It is not necessary to make a pattern; it is enough to make large allowances so that there is enough for the inside of the box.

    The uneven edges will be covered with the bottom and filler.

    Filler for handmade gift packaging

    If you don't have sisal or any other ready-made filler, make it yourself. It is enough to cut tissue paper (tishya) into small “noodles” and crumple it.

    Fluff the slices with your fingers, it’s not difficult, the paper will acquire the desired volume under your hands. Remember that the straw does not look straight. In the photo you see a cut of golden paper in silence. From one sheet it turns out a large number of slices, you will have enough for a dozen boxes.

    Fill the box with slices, put your gift in it and proceed to wrapping it in cellophane if the box is without a lid.

    Transparent cellophane wrapping gift box

    Cut a rectangle of cellophane of such a size that when wrapping, there will be free ends for the sides. Wrap the box in a circle and carefully secure it on the side or bottom with thin transparent tape.

    Excess cellophane must be trimmed to avoid rough winding. Attach a bow, tinsel, twig or pretty ribbon for decoration.

    The photo shows examples of such packaging in different sizes.

    In such a box you can pack not only soap and candles, but also gingerbread cookies, handmade flowers, hairpins, brooches and much more that you create with your golden hands. Knowing how to make packaging for handmade soap, make similar ones for other gifts. If the item is large, then the box can be made large.

    Patterns and templates for handmade boxes

    The patterns you see below are suitable for boxes of more thin cardboard. These boxes do not require additional gluing. The main thing is to bend it correctly along the right lines. From corrugated cardboard Small boxes like this will be more difficult to make.

    Pattern and assembly diagram of a handmade box made of hard cardboard

    This version of the box is made of dense cardboard that holds its shape well, but is not very thick. It is held in place due to the hardness of the cardboard.

    Pattern for a thin cardboard box

    Thin cardboard allows you to make a box with your own hands by bending the side joints along diagonal lines. The picture shows how this is done.

    Using decorative paper (for example, for scrapbooking), you can make such a box a handmade masterpiece.

    The DIY packaging box diagram is simple; the picture below shows the simplest example.

    A cardboard box is a very versatile thing, because it is useful for storing any things, from small things to important documents. It can also be used as original and beautiful packaging for gifts. After all, the first impression of a gift depends on its design. Original carton boxes can decorate the interior of a living room or bedroom. This article with MK will be useful to anyone who wants to learn how to make a cardboard box with their own hands.

    To work on creating cardboard boxes you will need:

    - large, thick sheets of cardboard;

    - sharp scissors;

    - box template.

    Square shape

    The scheme for creating a square box is quite simple. At the beginning of work you need to make a pattern. This is very easy to do. Draw a square of the required size on a sheet of cardboard. Next, draw straight lines of the required length from each side, determining the height of the box. On one side of each side of the box, draw small protrusions 1-2 cm wide. Then cut them near the bottom of the box at an angle of 45 degrees. Cut and bend the workpiece along each line. Glue the protrusions to the adjacent side of the box with glue or tape.

    Make the lid larger than the box itself by 1-5 mm. Transfer the original square to a cardboard sheet and enlarge it on each side by a couple of millimeters. Then make protrusions that will hold the lid on the box.

    Glue the resulting box together. The square box is ready, now you can put a gift inside.

    Round gift box

    This round gift box will be a great addition to your main gift. At the beginning of work, you need to decide on the size and select the cardboard. For the bottom and lid, choose a thicker cardboard than what will be on the sides. Next, draw the templates. Draw two circles on the sheets. This will be the lid and bottom of the box. To do this, you can use a regular clerical compass. The diameter of the lid should be larger than the diameter of the box.

    Draw carefully, all cut out parts should look perfect.

    The next stage is preparing the side surface of the box. It is worth remembering that the circumference of a circle is equal to pi * 2 radius. This is the length required to cut a strip of cardboard. Inside the circle, draw another circle with the same center, but with a radius 1 cm smaller. Bend a strip of cardboard from the side into a roll. Avoid kinks and cracks in the cardboard. Secure the ends with glue or tape from the inside. Glue the side wall to the bottom of the box. Make small cuts along the entire length of the cardboard strip. Fold them.

    Also make a narrow strip of cardboard and give it a round shape. Glue it to the circle, which in the future will become a lid for the box. Carefully select the appropriate difference in the diameters of both strips so that the lid does not fall off later. Decorate the box decorative paper, ribbons or bows.

    Triangle shaped

    To make a beautiful triangular box, you first need to draw a triangle on a cardboard sheet, 2 times the size of the future finished box. Divide all sides in half and connect their centers with lines. These lines will correspond to the fold lines of the box.

    Place the gift on the inner triangle and glue the box. If the seam allowances for fastening the parts are not cut out, punch small holes along each edge and thread a ribbon through them.
