    VIDEO. How to make a fan at home?

    Many of us in childhood tried to make a paper fan with our own hands. Especially in cases when it’s hot summer outside. We invite you to remember how it was and learn other ways to create this accessory. Involve children in the creative process.

    Easy way

    As children, we simply fold a square of paper like an accordion, then open it, holding it by the base. The fan is ready. Let's improve this option. Take three squares of paper of the same size and fold them into fans. Let's glue them together.

    We glue ice cream sticks to the sides of the outer segments and first make holes at the ends. We pass a thread or ribbon into this hole; it will help keep the fan open.

    Japanese fan

    Let's make a fan using the origami technique. To do this you need to prepare:

    • paper white, size A4;
    • ruler;
    • scissors;
    • stapler;
    • wool thread, preferably red;
    • pencil;
    • PVA glue.

    It is necessary to prepare paper rectangles with some kind of Japanese design, six pieces with sides of 10 and 29 centimeters and 4 pieces - 7 by 20 centimeters.

    Take 6 rectangles, fold them in half and cut along the fold line. The output is 12 segments.

    We take five sheets of white paper and fold each of them in half lengthwise and crosswise. Having received the fold lines, we cut along them, we get 20 rectangles with sides of 10 and 15 centimeters.

    We fold each small rectangle long side in half twice.

    We put the rack blanks aside and work with 7 by 10 cm rectangles. Fold them in half crosswise. Unfold, then fold each side toward the center.

    Now we bend each side in the opposite direction.

    We turn the workpiece to the back side. Fold each edge into an accordion. We make four such accordions.

    From woolen thread we cut pieces of ten centimeters and 6 pieces of 30 cm each. We tie them together in the middle.

    From long ends let's braid the hair.

    Using a stapler, we attach the racks to the main twelve sheets.

    Now all the sheets with racks must be connected to each other.

    We attach an accordion with a pattern to the free edge of the stand using the same principle of preparing the blank.

    Using a piece of paper, we fasten the base of the fan and tie our tassel to it.

    Our fan is ready.

    On sticks

    We will need:

    • a sheet of paper or an interesting piece of wallpaper (you can even use fabric) with sides of 4 and 36 cm;
    • wooden sticks for ice cream or coffee – 12 pieces;
    • glue;
    • regular or decorative screw and nut.

    In each stick, we make a hole at the same distance, one to two centimeters from the end. Then we fold a piece of paper into an accordion width of one and a half centimeters (just draw the following lines on the fabric). Glue the sticks near the fold line.

    Having folded the resulting workpiece, screw the screw into all the holes and secure it with a nut. This simple master class allows you to make such beauty.

    Corrugated paper

    We will need: corrugated paper in blue, blue and white shades, matching floral mesh, 14 skewers, beads, foil, hot glue, scissors, thread, chain, beads.

    From blue corrugated paper cut out 14 strips, always across the fibers, with sides of 15 and 1 centimeter. We stretch them and wrap each skewer, securing it at the end with glue.

    Now the skewers need to be glued to each other at the base at an angle of 45 degrees.

    When all the skewers are fastened together, cut out a piece of 2 by 5 centimeters from the same paper, stretch it and close the base of the fan.

    Then each sharp tip of the skewers must be decorated with beads secured with glue.

    We cut out a square with sides of 30 cm from the floral mesh and wrap our fan base in it. For reliability, we will thread the tops with beads through the holes of the mesh. We fix everything with glue and wait for it to dry completely.

    Let’s put our preparation aside and start creating flower decor. To do this, cut out petals from blue paper (initially rectangles, then round the edges): 4 pieces - with sides of 3 and 5 cm, 3 pieces - 5 cm each; blue paper- 4 things. – 3 by 4 cm, 3 pcs. – 4 by 4 cm; White paper- 4 things. – 2 by 3 cm, 3 pcs. – 3 by 3 cm.

    Use your fingers to stretch the petals from the center and use skewers or a pencil to twist the rounded edges outward.

    Take a square of foil and form a ball or droplet, wrap it with the first of four petals. We secure the base with thread.

    Now, starting with the smaller petals, we begin to form a bud. Gluing the petals overlapping, and in rows in a checkerboard pattern.

    Thus, we prepare 3 blue and light blue roses and 4 white ones.

    Glue it together big roses with each other and attach to the base of the fan.

    Glue the remaining roses.

    Glue the chain onto the reverse side using small pieces of paper and glue.

    Such a fan can serve not only for its intended purpose (then it is better to glue the chain to the bottom in the form of a loop), but also as interior decor.

    We also suggest that you familiarize yourself with a selection of videos on making paper fans.

    article from

    To protect against the summer heat or as a beautiful interior detail, sometimes you want to create a fan with your own hands. This is very beautiful accessory. It has not lost its relevance over the centuries. And despite the apparent complexity of the design, it is quite simple to implement.

    Kinds

    It is difficult to say when fans first appeared. They are known in different countries and cultures. A fan can be any object that is designed to fan oneself or others with wind currents.

    In hot countries, slaves stood above their rulers and constantly waved huge structures on a long handle over them. In medieval Europe, every young lady had a whole collection of hand fans of different colors and configurations. Some of them were even decorated with precious stones.

    But most of the varieties appeared in Japan, where there was no shortage of paper - the basis for the fan. Here we know both the beam designs that are familiar to us, and products made entirely of paper, on a handle, which when unfolded resemble a leaf of a tree, and when folded they are completely hidden in the handle.

    There is also a non-folding fan made of paper and other dense materials. It is also attached to a handle, to which a strap is attached to make it more convenient to carry. Such a fan is decorated with paintings of scenes from everyday life, religion, or landscapes of Japanese nature, which have features characteristic of this culture.

    Fan from childhood

    Let's consider the simplest master class. How to create a simple paper fan? Many of us did it as children. But in fact, this is not such a children's toy. This is exactly how it was made in China.

    Take a rectangular sheet of paper. We divide its long side into equal parts, approximately 1-1.5 cm each. We fold the marked sheet like an accordion. At the same time, we make sure that every bend is clear and even.

    When the workpiece is completely ready, we begin to create protective slats. They are made from thick cardboard. The length of the slats is equal to the length of the short side of the rectangle from which we make the fan, and the width is the width of the fold. Glue the slats on both sides of the workpiece.

    We fix the lower part of the fan in assembled form using a strip of paper or tape. So our simplest fan is ready. Now we can decorate it with our own hands using any available technique.

    The main thing is that such a fan does not require much time to make. At the same time, it does its job well and is quite compact when not needed.

    Modeling a ray fan

    Now let's see how to make a fan of a classic design, which we are used to seeing in movies, in pictures, and in everyday life.

    It consists of three main elements: frame beams or knitting needles, a rivet securing them and the canvas itself. You can use wooden sticks or slats or plastic blanks as knitting needles. They are connected with a strong rivet, which leaves little room for the slats to move freely.

    The fan canvas is made from any dense material. For decorative purposes, paper or thin cardboard. For intended use, it is better to choose more durable materials: fabric, polyethylene, thin leather.

    All the parts are usually assembled together using glue, but they can also be sewn on if the knitting needles allow it. When the entire structure is assembled, they move on to decorating it. There is no limit to the flight of imagination: painting, embroidery, feathers, lace, appliqués. The main thing is not to make this air accessory heavier.

    Japanese fan

    We all know that there is a special type of fan - Japanese. They are not only very beautiful, but also have their own design feature.

    In Japanese tradition, it is customary to create fans from a large number of knitting needles. At the same time, the shape remains the same - a semicircle. This results in the spokes running very close to each other, which creates an interesting decorative effect. Although, most likely, this design feature was introduced in connection with the use of this accessory as a weapon, where strength plays an important role.

    The second distinctive feature is its high artistic value. When making a fan with his own hands, the master puts his whole soul into it. This is clearly expressed in the traditional paintings that decorate Japanese fans. Here we meet famous dragons, beloved cranes, and sakura flowers.

    Today, Japanese fans are real works of art that are used as interior details.

    Product made from scrap materials

    If you want to know how to make a fan from ordinary plastic forks, we suggest you interesting way. To work, you will need disposable forks, cardboard, glue, and decorative elements.

    Cut out a semicircle from cardboard and glue a fork to it in a tight row. We make sure that they form uniform rays, and all the heads lie with their teeth facing up. When the glue sets, cover the workpiece with the same semicircle of cardboard and wait until the entire structure is completely glued together.

    Now you can start decorating. Since forks are a heterogeneous object, you cannot attach a classic linen to them, but you can decorate them with lace, ribbons and bows. The main thing is not to be afraid to show your imagination, so that this master class will give you a truly unique decoration for a variety of purposes.

    Blanks for decoration

    If the main thing for you is not to create a full-fledged fan from scratch, but only to decorate it, then many stores are at your service. They offer blanks that require additional decoration.

    These fans are made of wood or plastic and covered with thick paper. This allows you to produce various paintings, thin appliqués, and decoupage with napkins on blanks.

    These same blanks will come in handy if you need knitting needles but have nowhere to get them. Just buy a similar fan and change its fabric to the one you need. This is also a great way to make your own fan.

    Getting started handmade, you must always remember that no one knows the original plan except you. Therefore, there is no reason to be upset if something doesn’t work out. Let everyone think that this is your creative decision, and not a small mistake or failure!
